Sorry, Kohl's, but we're breaking up. It's a shame, because things started out so promising. I even had a charge card with you. But, earlier this year, you put a freeze on my charge account because someone tried to commit fraud--I am glad that you didn't permit the fraudulent activity. Unfortunately, in spite of my perfect repayment history and good credit rating, you also blocked me from using my own account. In May, when I tried to resolve the issue, your managers just didn't have time to resolve it. I tried to resolve it over the phone, but your customer service folks were lazy and couldn't be bothered. Today, I took my 89 year old grandmother shopping at your store to celebrate 5 years of being cancer free. Yay, right?!? Yes! Well, it should have been. Except that after we shopped and my very aged grandmother was quite tired, we waited through the long line to pay. Your staff then sent me all the way to the back of the store to try and deal with the credit card issue--still blocked. I waited again in another long line and then waited even longer on hold while we called customer service. My grandmother was also still waiting, exhausted. We finally reached your representative and I gladly presented three forms of ID, including my passport. Your staff was befuddled and couldn't figure out my German driver's license and you kept trying to find my address on my passport (do you really not know that addresses are not listed on passports?!?). It was a US passport, I really hope that you are familiar with those. Nonetheless, I spent the better part of an hour trying to resolve this stupidity. Finally, I was sent back to the front to pay. Another line. I try to pay and the card is rejected.
I handed the card to the clerk and asked him to cut in in half and recommended an orifice in which Kohl's can place it. We're done, Kohl's. It's not me, it's you.
I called customer service about the card. I have no balance and purportedly a fully available line of credit. I am supposedly in good standing. Nonetheless, you clearly don't value me as a customer and don't want my business. I will honor your wishes. I...
