Where do I even begin with this review? We booked the Peekaboo Slot Canyon with the sandboarding tour for my husband and I and our two daughters (15 and 5 years old). Our 5 year old has Rett Syndrome so she has limited mobility and is non-verbal. I have to say I was nervous about how she would do on the tour but this was on our must do list. The experience was amazing from beginning to end! At the shop Ty was so helpful getting everyone fitted for helmets and goggles. Then we met our guide Josh who was so knowledgeable (you would’ve thought he was a local with the amount of things he knew) and patient! He never made us feel rushed and our 5 year old was able to walk Peekaboo at her own pace. It felt like Josh was an old family friend just showing us around Kanab and giving us so much knowledge! He really took his time and made sure we got some great pictures and answered any questions that we had. Sandboarding was a blast as well…even with the falls! Lol

We all enjoyed the trip so much, especially our 5 year old, that we booked the Great Chamber tour with Josh for the next day! We knew that this tour would be a lot harder with our daughter because of the walk up to the Great Chamber but Josh assured us that we could just go at our own pace. It did take us a little while to carry our daughter up but Josh was perfect at stopping at different points to explain different plants or show us things just so we could take a small break. We made it up and the view was to die for.

I would highly recommend this tour company and also Josh as a guide. We appreciated his knowledge, positive attitude and patience with us. Because of this company’s and Josh’s accommodations our daughter has some of the best memories and was able to experience something that she might not would’ve been able to going somewhere else and we were able to experience it was a whole family instead of one of us staying behind. What an incredible excursion! My husband and son (20yrs) and I had the most amazing time with Josh, our guide who drove us off-road to see the Peekaboo Slot Canyon and then through crazy fun trails to see the Great Chamber. We had been to Antelope Canyon before and weren’t sure what to expect but Peekaboo did NOT disappoint! Such gorgeous formations that are almost indescribable. Josh was very informative about the history of the formations as well as the Native Americans who once lived around and among these canyons. He also made sure to point out awesome photo vantage points and took amazing pics of our family. The hike through the canyon was just long enough and definitely doable for those that may not want anything too strenuous but be able to experience such a marvel. We then hopped back into the UTV for a super fun and wild ride to the Great Chamber. I had only discovered this incredible place recently, and as soon as I saw the pictures, I knew I would have to see it in person. It absolutely, positively did not disappoint, and Josh took the most incredible pictures of our family against this magical backdrop. He did a wonderful job of explaining how the chamber was formed, and what care we as visitors must take in preserving this awe-inspiring site and place. We had such an incredible experience with Expedition Kanab on our Great Chamber and Peek-A-Boo Slot Canyon tour! Our guide, Maven, was fantastic—I highly recommend booking with him if you can. Not only is he a skilled mechanic who services UTVs in the area, but he also has deep family roots here, which made his knowledge of both the land and the vehicles unmatched.

We chose to have Maven drive our UTV, with a second UTV following behind, and it was the perfect decision. He struck the ideal balance—making the ride fun and exciting while always keeping things safe and never reckless. His professionalism really stood out, but he also had a warm, friendly way of making the whole trip enjoyable. Along the way, he shared great local tips and recommendations, and he also captured some amazing family photos for us to remember the adventure.

The whole experience gave us lasting memories and incredible photo opportunities we’ll treasure for years. We booked the morning tour, which I especially recommend in the summer months—it made the outing more comfortable and enjoyable.
