My mom went on the first day of grand opening weekend, grabbed a couple of items, and when she approached self-checkout, an employee scanned her items for her and walked away without saying a word.
I went with my mom the next day. We grabbed our items and headed to self-checkout while other customers were already scanning their own items and struggling. A young employee, who came in late, started scanning our items. When my mom asked what was happening, she said the system was down, began scanning and slamming our items, then walked away without explaining anything.
We thought she went to get help, but she went over to the older couple who had been struggling before us. My mom asked another employee what to do next. The first young lady interrupted, got smart with my mom, and told her to “choose your payment then pay.” When my mom explained she was only asking because the employee walked away, she rolled her eyes and said she was “just doing her job,” slamming the other couple’s items in the process. I asked her who she was talking to and she ignored me.
Meanwhile, the other employee, who I’m assuming was a manager, just stood there watching. We walked out and the other lady tells us to have a good day.
