At around 11 or 12 yesterday I was rushed to this hospital due to a severe allergic reaction. I came in unable to talk restricted in movement, and unable to advocate for myself. My husband did the best that he could but I wasn't able to tell him what i was feeling either, not like they wanted to hear it from him anyways. Right when i was wheeling by my spouse, he drove me up to the desk where the nurse went in with so many questions my mind could register but my mouth couldn't utter. I said I need to get back there, I need help, what is wrong with my body? she replies and says i have to get this information before you go back there, so I attempt to give her all that I could as my body pain began to shift my attention. I went to the part for weight and height and another nurse begins throwing demands out that I had the hardest time answer she was rolling her eyes, smacking her lips, and flipping her hair in frustration as I told her ma'am I'd love to answer your questions but my bodies questions are not answered which is why it will not allow me to speak as i once could 2 hours ago. Some how they realized I couldn't answer the questions and they wouldn't allow my husband to go with me that could answer all general questions. So I'm wheeled to the back as I began to freeze at an irregular temperature. I asked for blankets eventually got heated blankets. They go into draw blood from a frozen body and as I told them at first they have retracted due to my body temperature is their another way? They insisted on poking me four times busting to vein vessels due to the force and constant persistence in getting blood. Every nurse including the lead nurse had an attitude, as did the doctor. They denied my measure of pain I guess thinking i was lying as the doctor mocked me from his own perception of what he though I was saying. He said so you ate the shrimp knowing you were allergic to it? As i had explained this to three nurses I told him again in a very soft voice I ordered crab legs, they sent shrimp out with it I told them I was allergic as i believe they just took the shrimp out and gave it to me, which caused this reaction. But he could careless no need to apologize for his misconception. One by one they came in and made my forty- five to an hour stay the longest most uncomfortable hospital stay i have ever experienced. I felt bad for even being in this predicament. A nurse came in named Jaimie that actually listened to me the first time focusing on my words so I wouldn't have to keep repeating but asking me big question but contained small answers, just what I needed. She tended to me very well and even talked to keep coherent. By the time the medicine kicked in the doctor came in with a new attitude as if I was to delusional to understand how he just treated me. The lead nurse kept trying to make me move side to side as my body was unable to with little to no assistance. All and all Truman medical is terrible in Kansas City and in Lee Summit and how dare you all treat people that are in need of health assistance like they are the problem their health has failed. How dare you treat people that cannot speak for themselves as vessels to mistreat. You all should be jobless, but since I'm sure the turn over rate is indescribable you guys have preserved a job your just not cut out for. You all go and get all this education to misuse your knowledge to downplay people, disregard patients, misinterpret individuals that can hardly speak, never solve any issues. I cannot believe this service, i barely go to the hospital but I will definitely try to remain in my best health so I can stay away from hospitals. You Make All Hospitals Look Bad.....Thank...
Read moreExtremely bad experience, I guess because of the holiday people don’t want to work because I had no good care. I went in due to a severe ear pain that I have been having since Monday night, on Tuesday I got prescribed some ear drops then on Wednesday I went to a clinic because it have been almost two days and pain was still the same I was given some antibiotics since they said it was an ear infection. On Thursday I went back to that same clinic again because I developed a low fever and chills over the night, I was told I needed to give time to the antibiotics to work, after a different provider went in and looked at inside the ear again and also into my mouth then she said it was more than likely my wisdom tooth and not the ear and I was advice to attend to the dentist. Yesterday Friday I went in to the dentist the did a scan and X-rays and saw nothing concerning or related to the wisdom tooth, to different providers took a look and both said the same thing because the pain I have is on the ear and not on any tooth. I was advice to go to the ER since the pain is so severe and it was nothing related to my tooth. Today I decided to go into the ER and even though the waiting time was only about two hours the care I received was not what I was expected to have, they checked my ear I was only given some Tylenol and after prescribed some ear drops. I asked the NP Amy M Siebes who treated me if there was any way I could have my ear cleaned or have any time of procedure that would help release the pressure of the ear and help with the pain since it’s severe it has been happening for 5 days and it was not improving even with medication, and responded saying that would be a surgery and she could not do it so I just needed to use the drops she prescribed and if symptoms got worst then to go back, and then she was rushing out the room. Have been in SEVERE pain and nobody is helping not even the pain medication, had no god experience people don’t help like they are supposed too but yet I will receiving an expensive bill...
Read moreI recently come to the ER due to Chest pain and cramping at 22 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I honestly felt they did not take my symptoms seriously specially when I told them I have not had prenatal care. They asked for a urine sample but never took it nor took blood. They checked the baby and told me baby was measuring 20 weeks and 4 days I knew then something was not right. They gave me aspirin for the cramping which then caused a real bad headache that I complained about before I was told I was being discharged then they gave me Tylenol after discharging me. I was looking at my blood pressure and it stayed at Stage 1 Hypertensions levels which I also explained that I had preeclampsia last year which caused me to have my baby early at 35weeks via C- section. I later went back because the cramping headaches and so much more was going on. They told me I was not having contractions but I know what contractions feel like plus I felt a pop like my water broke but no fluids came out they checked and said I wasn't dalited and my cervix was still closed tight. This time they took my blood and urine I had yet to hear a call back with results so I looked it up on their website with the code and there is problems with my blood still not even a call to explain why and what to do next. I know my body and it is telling me something is wrong. This place sucks at caring for...
