I’ve used A Hug Away for approximately 5 years and up until their Respiratory Therapy Technologist unfortunately suffered a stroke the service was outstanding! I was told the company has no plans to hire another RTT. Since there is no longer a RTT, their CPAC service has suffered greatly. I like these people but when the patient has to hunt employees down to get supplies, something is wrong. Took me 4 months to get a replacement Cpac mask that had broken.
After the RTt was no longer there, I tried to stay with the company because I’d had a wonderful working relationship with them.
But problems started to occur, I hand delivered my Cpac supply paperwork to my Doctor after multiple attempts were taken by this provider to get him to sign it by fax.
My Doctor did not sign it because my name was wrong. I got that corrected and hand delivered the second request to find out my birthday was wrong on the paperwork.
When I spoke to the provider, I was told that is what was in the system and 5 years my paperwork had be processed that way. Medicare nor Blue Cross Blue Shield never caught the error. Wow!
Unfortunately, I’ve switched providers. I understand businesses going through problems but I tried for 6 months to work with this business.
They are nice people, I hope...
Read moreThis is a wonderful company. I have never had to have a nurse come into my home to take care of me, so being the first time I was a little worried. It has been the most amazing feeling. The first day of coarse I was nervous about even meeting my nurse. She came in walked me right on through everything, knowing what my doctor wanted as to what I needed. Mrs. Darla RN has been coming 3 times a week to clean my wound from surgery. I am a wound vac, which the dressing has to be changed 3 times a week. She is very gentle, cleanliness nurse I have ever had. She also is very friendly and has a great bedside manner. While taking care of my dressing change she talks helping me not think about it so it doesn't so bad. Answers any and all questions I have and listens to any problems I might have had changing the dressing to what my needs are and more comfortable to me. I could not of ask for a better service. My doctor at me last visit said my nurse was doing an awesome job and she knows what she is doing. Hopefully I will never need a home health care nurse again, but if I do this will be the company I will use. I just want to Thank them for being so wonderful with me. Don't know what I would have done...
Read moreKuddos to A Hug Away. This is an amazing company. Thank you so much Detrick for your kindness and compassion that you have displayed.
My name is Sandra I’m a counselor that works with the homeless community. I wanted you to know you have an exceptional employee working for you, however, I do not know his name he was a black make with dreadlocks. I was driving in the downtown area today when I noticed a small red car with your logo on the side A Hug Away and I saw a gentleman passing out blankets and water to the homeless people. I found this to be amazing because I’m not sure if its something that your company does but I wanted say thank you and express my gratitude towards the fact he stopped and took the time out to think of the homeless community. Knowing that we are expecting a hard freeze and a lot of people are going to be without shelter because the shelters fill up fast during cold winter nights brought tears to my eyes. Resources are low and for someone to think of others is a true act of kindness and compassion especially when we live in a cruel world that often ignore and look down on the homeless population. Whoever that gentleman was please...
