Plato's Closet is THE place to go if you are looking for affordable prices on current style, name brand clothing! Seriously, 80% of my closet is from Plato's.. and I rest easy knowing I spent less than half of what anyone else would who shops at the mall! :) As for the "buying process," bring in one shirt, you'll make $1-$4 (depending on brand and type of shirt), but bring in lots of clothes that fit their criteria and you can make $100-$300 (I have actually made $175 just from one stop). They tend to be picky on "style, brand, and condition" of the clothing that they are able to take, but I will never take that personally, obviously the employees are doing as instructed and the store has to be reasonably picky to make sure the clothes that they pay you cash for will sell. The process of selling clothes is soooo simple and a lot easier than trying to sell your unwanted clothes online. But hey, if you are willing to go through the online process to gain a couple extra bucks, more power to you! In my own experience, the customer service is amazing and everyone that works there or has worked there in the past have been nothing but kind and helpful to me. If I could rate Plato's a 5 stars 100 times, I would! P.S.(If you don't have time to shop their selection every day of the week, check out their Instagram page! They post the best of the best inventory 3-4 times a day that you can put on hold & have give away...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy step-daughter has taken things in to Plato's Closet in the past and always had a good experience. I took a laundry basket full of 22 pair of men's pants in to sell at Plato's Closet recently. There was a mix of jeans, khaki's, and dress pants. The pants were in two bundles folded in half. The jeans were on the bottom and the dress and khaki's were on top. I took the basket in and was told it would take 20-30 minutes for someone to evaluate the pants. I came back an hour later and was told they could not accept any of the pants because they only deal with items that are 18 months old or newer or could be found in stores now. My dress and khaki's are over 18 months old but the 12 pair of jeans were 6 months to 2 years old and half of them look like I just took the tags off them. I recently lost 30 pounds and the pants no longer fit. I did not know their policy of how old items can be to be sold in their store and was disappointed that they did not offer me anything for my jeans that look brand new. I feel they only took a look at the pants on top and decided they were all too old for their store because when I picked the basket up from their store, the pants were still in the basket the way I put them in. They did not pull the pants out to evaluate them. I guess as I start building my wardrobe up again, I will not be going to Plato's Closet to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo let's see where do I start with this store... with the pros or cons? Ok, cons, well they will take your clothes and pay you for them them right... well, are they really? i mean, my daughter had brought so many name brand items, for example, 80 dollar jeans, and they want to give you maybe 8 dollars. That's not the exact amounts but im tryin to give you an example of what they give you for your stuff even if it's name brand and then turn around and sell them for $40 so you tell me. Im mean, come on, Plato's closet, where is the give? Seems to me all your doing is taking from your community when that's who's keeping your doors open. Do you agree? So i was in there today looking for some gray sweats, and the price you have on your sweats is ridiculous. I know you can come down on your price. Please help us out as we help you keep your doors open. Ok, pro, this store has potential it's always so clean and very organized, color cordinated, so thank you for that. It makes it very easy to shop here, which i would love to do. If and when the prices drop, because i would love to give more stars, you deserve all 5. Even for just the idea of letting people bring their gently used clothes in to get money or store credit is brilliant. Can't wait to come back and be able to give a 5...
