Aaronâs in Kingsport, TN is the worst place to Rent items.
On September 2, 2022, my wife wanted me to see about a payment arrangement on our couch and bed. I called at the end of the day (I am a teacher). I tried to do it.
The manager, Spencer said $500 and change next week. I thought that seemed a little high so I told him Iâd touch base with my wife since she handles keeping up with our bills and our budget. She is a teacher too and I texted her at her school and she said âSee if theyâll take $250 next week.â So I called and Spencer said âNo we canât take short payments.â
I was confused about everything as I donât usually handle that side of our financial affairs. So I left on my way home from school. She went on her way home from school and said sheâd call and I said âOk, thanks because I am confused on all that.â
So she called me back. I have a 40 minute commute between home and work and she has a 20 minute one.
My wife said Spencer was very unprofessional with her and condescending. He said she was lying about when she got paid. She gets paid on the 15th every month. I get paid on the 5th and 20th.
There was a payment she had scheduled for August 31, 2022. It didnât go through because another bill came out and she forgot about that. He accused her of lying about that payment and knowingly making a payment that wouldnât go through.
We have been customers of Aaronâs for 5 years in different areas. After this payment on our couch and bed, we will be looking at another place to get a couch and bed from, like Rent a Center. Then Aaronâs will be authorized to come and get the current bed and couch.

Well I fell into situation and decided I would give them another try... my very 1st experience with this store about 4 years ago was excellent the staff was gracious and curtious as expected. I bought a couch and it had for years it was great and was easily paid off... Then 2nd experience with was Samsung Fridge I loved that thing amazing and the staff was great and delivery was quick more pain in the butt for delivery ppl but they did great job getting it in tight kitchen... Then there was the fateful 3rd experience with another couch it go so hot one thing led to another and I had couch returned. I was pleased with the new staff at that time. So we ended our business dealings for while... Now on 4th experience it was great deal had to get a washer and dryer in pinch they sold new set good deal and price. The pay off was quick. There staff was super great and now looks like since paid that off so quick. We are on to our 5th purchase with Arronâs this new staff is so much better. They are quick offer deals and accommodate. I paid for my furniture months in advanced, yet they continued to try to charge my card every two weeks, when I was paid up in advance. They then tacked on late fees for bills that I paid months early. They have me paying for a bedframe that CAME BROKEN. They agreed to pick up the bedframe MONTHS AGO and take it off my bill, but they never came for the bedframe or fixed it and they continue to charge me for the broken bed frame. Now that I'm completely fed up with paying for a bedframe they sold to me BROKEN, I tell them I'm going to transport the bedframe myself on top of my car, and they say I'd be liable if anything happens to it. It's ALREADY BROKEN! THEY WERE AUPPOSED TO COME GET IT!!! At this point, I'm never going to Aaron's again. I'm sick of their mess ups and costing me extra money.
