Probably wont be back to this location... I am a service manager at a restaurant, actually just got off a hard shift that I had to run, and I didn't have anything to eat. I was in the mood for a burger so my husband and I decided we wanted to try out five guys because we've heard good things about them but never been. 2 things bothered me to the point that it ruined my experience
the guy who was on register was so rude to my husband and i, I was really shocked because he had a black collard shirt on which indicated to me that he was the manager. Being a restaurant manager my self it angered me! I just got off a shift with some people being down right rude to me and still having to show them good customer service even tho it bothered me, to this guy being behind the register and me being the customer (not even doing anything wrong, he was bothered that we walked in) was just rude and had 0 customer service skills.
I heard they had peanuts so i was looking for them and lo and behold they were placed on top of the trash can 😑. That is disgusting! That is a ready to eat food.... (you dont plan on rinsing, or reheating it.) Another item thats ready to eat is ice, hence the reason every restaurant I have ever worked at required us to wear gloves no matter how clean are hands were . So why is a ready to eat food exactly placed ontop of a trash can?
The food was good! But we were sitting there bothered and didn't enjoy our time. YES CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT, your job isn't only to cook great food. It's also to be POLITE. If you cant handle that then you shouldnt be a...
Read moreMy experience here was very disappointing. I'd ordered for pickup online. Burger, fries, shake. Simple, right? There was only 1 other customer in the store, so this wasn't during peak or anything.
My complaints:
I followed the directions as prompted, and was told my order would be ready in 5-10 minutes. I clicked the "I'm on my way" button when I was on my way. I clicked the "I'm here" button when I arrived 15 minutes later. I walked in, told the person I was picking up an online order, and it was THEN they started making my order. So I waited an additional 15 minutes at the store.
I had paid $6 for regular-sized fries. What I received was a small 12 oz drink cup barely filled with them.
15 minutes later they gave me my bag and said the order was ready. "Where's the shake?" I asked. "Oh," I was told, and after a few more minutes I was handed a sloshing cup of melty white soup. Not frozen. Not thick. Literally sloshing from side to side like a glass of milk. I had to put it in the freezer when I got home, and after spending 1 hour there, it finally almost reached shake consistency. Close enough anyway.
The burger. The only reason this review is not 1 star is because the burger was absolutely delicious! It was the only part of this visit that was not a disappointment.
1 burger + 1 regular fries + 1 shake = $25?! And I have to freeze the shake myself? Seems a bit steep for what I walked away with.
So yeah, just disappointing. I've gone to many other Five Guys in the Raleigh area, and they are usually fantastic. This one is not. Far from it. Go...
Read moreI made an online order for pick up. Seemed no issues, food was picked up and brought home. I checked my bank account as always when I make an online purchase and my card was charged TWICE. The food is pricey enough for burger without having to pay for it twice. I called the store to let them know and asked them to credit back to my account only to be told by the manager Carmen that she couldn’t do anything and she only showed my card charged once. So, without eating any food, I drove back to the location and took food with me. At this point it was cold and not eatable , especially for what it cost. After speaking with Carmen , who could not do anything, I had her call the general manager - Donnie - who said my money - all of it would be refunded within 24 hrs. Upon leaving the store I received an email that half my money was being refunded. I replied that was incorrect and am waiting to see if they handle this as they said they would. Lesson learned - don’t order or pay online - take the extra time to go in person and pay — or you just may be out of luck. I personally will not be returning - I can find to many other burger places to spend my money. Poor customer service ,...
