Target — Local services in Lake Geneva

First, I always shop here, its close to my house. They need to make some improvements. They don't carry enough groceries or organic options like most other targets. Would like to see more in that area.

Next, I was there last night at 7pm. I had over 40 items in my cart, and spent over $200, yet I had to CHECK MYSELF OUT. I asked one of the employees when she directed me to self check "there are no registers open" and she said no. There were 3+ workers behind customer service, standing there doing nothing but chatting. I had encountered multiple people stocking. The point is, there were PLENTY of staff around to check people out.

If I wanted to checkout people at Target, I would get a job there. I do not like self checkout, particularly when I have a cart full of stuff. She could tell I was frustrated as I did tell her that if I wanted to work there I would've filled out an application, but she didn't offer to open a register. This wasn't 10pm at night, it was 7 and the store was busy. OPEN REGISTERS. It is completely unreasonable to ask someone with a full cart to check themselves out. I almost left the cart and walked out, but my kids needed lunch items.

If this is going to be the new norm at this store, I will not be...

I just love the layout of the store and all that it has to offer. I do wish they had a more comprehensive grocery department and Magnolia Market like the larger Targets. I also LOVE Leanne Ford, and would like to see a LOT more of her items, too. I am disappointed that they have cut back on the number of checkouts, forcing me to do an employee's job. In my opinion, if I'm doing someone else's job, I should get a discount or reward. I cannot stand self check outs, I don't feel I'm getting the whole customer service experience I want. All of that being said, the Lake Geneva Target is very friendly and they offer enough of what I need until I can get to the larger stores. UPDATE: the store manager has personally addressed my concerns re: self checkouts. I feel a tad remiss in posting this, as that was about 2 weeks ago. To his credit, he was very emphatic and took the time to explain what's going on within the store and self checkouts. I will carry on with...

The more I shop here the more I like it! I love Target's carefully curated selection of wares; their seasonal items in particular are excellent, and I've recently discovered they have a great selection of frozen pizzas, vegetables, and sauces that you can't find anywhere else.

For some items, their prices may seem a smidge high at first, but if you get a Red Card the year-round 5% discount and the Red Card exclusive offers actually make them cheaper than their competitors.

I've always had great customer service from this location in particular, whether shopping in-store or picking up orders. Target is the only place I routinely shop where I actually look forward to my next trip instead of just thinking of...
