Read the other reviews, huge issue with customer service at this location. Went in to get vaccine services through Vetco - their staff was helpful, friendly and quick to serve, whereas the Petco (I'm assuming store manager, it was a dark haired guy) was quite rude and snotty toward me. I had my dogs in the car after their vaccine appointment and was waiting to check out. Both registers were occupied with patrons so I patiently waited twice to pay my bill and the woman in front of me was trying to do a no-receipt exchange on an item. She apparently had issues with verifying her phone number for the Petco Pals Rewards or something, so she asked to run to her car to get whatever else she needed. Okay - no big deal I thought - maybe it's okay for me to sneak in between transactions and check out really quick because I had to only pay for my dogs' vaccines. I politely asked the cashier if it was okay for me to check out ahead of the woman who ran to her can and apparently the male manager (or employee, I'm not sure) heard my question and without even looking at me or in my direction said "well we're down one person on the registers because they're on a break... you can get behind this guy with the dog food to check out after I'm finished with him." I didn't even catch that he was saying that TO ME, because the male cashier had such a snarky tone that I assumed something was going on at his register. I wasn't being pushy, just asked a genuine question to my cashier (and mine could have said "no, that's not possible") and I would've been totally fine with that but no - the male cashier had to go out of his way to make it seem like I was being completely unreasonable? I actually caught up with the guy who was buying dog food in the parking lot and asked him after that weird encounter if he thought the male cashier was talking to me considering there was no one behind him, and the patron even commented that the comment was rude and uncalled for, totally ridiculous. I can't say I've ever quite experienced such a poor excuse for customer service. I know employees are overworked, understaffed and underpaid - but that gives no one a right to speak to you like that, period. All I did was ask a question with the expectation that I could be told "no," but this guy took it too far. Can't say I've been a loyal patron of Petco in my life, really - but this incident today confirms that Customer Service is not Petco's strength at all. I'll continue giving my business to other companies who are there to provide great quality care to pet lovers - not a place that makes it seem like being a paying customer...
Read moreYelled at for FOLLOWING directions. I am a teacher, but during the summers I work for a delivery service. When I get to a store to do a pickup I look at the top of the page the store created. I follow the instructions that the store wrote. The instructions on the top of the page for this store stated that I should enter the store through the front doors and (in all caps) NO NEED WAITING IN LINE. Those are the exact words written. NO NEED WAITING IN LINE. That is followed by other instructions.
I walked in the store and stood near the register but didn’t interrupt the cashier and customer because I didn’t want to be rude. The cashier looked at me and yelled very loudly, “Get to the back of the line!” Then he looked at the customer he was checking out and said, “Who does she think she is?”
Not wanting to cause trouble, I went to the back of the line.
A woman who was in line apologized that someone would talk to me that way. When a second worker came to the register area she called me up.
I showed her the directions that the store wrote and explained that I don’t want to be rude or cause trouble, but if they don’t want carriers coming to the front, they need to change their directions.
She gave me the orders (I was there picking up 3 orders of 20 to 40 pound - each - bags of animal food) and left.
I called the carrier service I work for and they confirmed that the store wrote those directions and can change them if they want to.
I did nothing but follow directions.
Would the man who yelled at me expect those from UPS or FedEx to wait in line? I’ve seen UPS walk in and right to the front.
To be very clear: I don’t mind waiting in line. Honestly, I feel bad walking to the front. I feel like people in line are going to be angry at me.
My point is that: 1.) Write the directions the way you want them. 2.) Tell your workers what the directions for the carriers say so your workers don’t act ignorant. 3.) Store personnel should never yell at someone and then say nasty things about them...
Read moreI go to this store often because I own a Bearded Dragon and this Cristmas I got a Red Iguana, I thought it would be so cool to have a big lizard. They told me anything happens in the first two weeks to take the reptile back and they would exchange it for me. Well today unfortunately it's tail fell off. I don't know 100% how it happened but I knew that was NOT supposed to happen so I called the store and explained everything I knew and told me that when I come to the store they would exchange it. Later that day I went to the store thinking I would just get a new iguana. I was most certainly wrong. They gave me this long Shpeel about how that only happens when the tail is ripped off, but of course there is now way I would do that and they said the iguana is going to the vet and then possibly put up for adoption. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT EXCHANGE THE LIZARD I was furious because I was still well in the warranty time I've only had the little guy for a week. They were very rude about it and told me to go home and do research. I know quite a bit about reptile because I've done LOTS of research on several differant species. But while explaining how the tail shouldn't have fallen off the way these two ladies told me made me feel like I'm a bad pet owner. Ive had a bearded dragon for two years and cousins that have tons of reptiles and I learn tons from them about stuff. I honestly don't recommend going to this store the service is poor the FEW employees that I can actually find in more than 5 minutes waiting for someone to hopefully come around. The are very impatient with me and I'm very respectful at the store and its way too overpriced and employees are rude I'm just wonna get you through as fast as they can. I am never coming back to this store again because I can't stand the people there (except that one blond lady at...
