My husband showed interest in a particular Gunpla model. A $263 model, a Zeta Perfect Grade. The man who came over to help us after we said we didn't need help, excitedly began to tell us, "it looks beautiful, I actually opened it up for another customer because he wanted to check if it was plastic or rubber inside. I can tell you it's plastic." We then noticed the box had been damaged, and the outer cover missing. And other products were also missing their covers/ plastic tabs. Indicating they too had been opened. And yet an unopened price tag was on all the items, primarily the gundams. Needless to say, you've lost our business. To think employees open nearly three hundred dollar items and proceed to put them back on the shelf in such condition is astounding. These are collectibles for a reason and as a business this lack of etiquette is honestly appalling. We are not new to this hobby, or this store. I wouldn't trust to purchase any further collectibles from here now worrying they have been opened prior. There's a reason there's a seal on these items, especially Gunpla. Once those pieces are lost, they are extremely difficult or downright impossible to replace. As a collector, every piece is critical. I can't justify spending money on something potentially incomplete because an employee felt the need to open it. The employee we encountered had brown hair and glasses, his hair reminded me of a bad...
Read moreOn Saturday morning I made the mistake of visiting the Lakewood location looking for help with a new battery wire and re-soldering it to ESC and the battery connection. The individual I spoke with was not at all interested in helping me. This was clear when I was quoted $20.00 for the repair even though the Westminster location quoted me $5.00. I agreed to pay three times more for the repair than if I would have gone to the Westminster store. If I wanted to pay them to do the repair, I would have to leave the car at the store for the next week. I was told they were too busy on the weekends to do repairs. I was left speechless with this individual’s statement and appalled at the fact he acted like I was wasting his time. What I think he really meant to say was he didn’t have time to waste helping a $20 customer. I guess he never considered the fact that I may have been a repeat customer over the years and the car needing repair was purchased there along with a high-end battery charger and multiple lipo batteries. Not only did Lakewood lose out on my $20 repair they left at the very list another $100 I would have likely spent during my visit.
One thing is for sure, they will never again have to considered whether or not if I am a repeat customer. I will never take another step in Colpar's HobbyTown, Lakewood, 3355 S Wadsworth Blvd,...
Read moreHad an employee talk me out of a sale twice. I came in to look for basic wood and wood cutting tools to learn how to carve and shape wood. I asked the emoloyee if they had any wood carving tools and he said they had none what so ever. So I almost left but I found two products specifically labelled for woodcarving and brought those to the counter with a package of basic basswood. The employee told me that these products are not going to do what I want them too despite being marketed as woodworking tools. I was just trying to get into to a new hobby and mess around with some material and see what came of it. Oh well.
I have been coming here for years but now I can honestly say that unles you are into RC or model rockets then don't bother visiting this store. They have very little product selection and what they do have the employees talk you out of buying. There are plenty of worth while businesses in Denver. Don't waste your time or...
