I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with Macy's handling of a gift card issue. As a loyal Macy's credit card holder and long-time customer, I am appalled by the lack of assistance and conflicting information I received from your customer service department. The problem began with a $100 gift card I received as a gift. The scratch-off portion was defective and would not reveal the full card number. When I took the card to a Macy's store, the cashier was completely unhelpful. I then contacted customer service and spoke with an agent named Jay. He instructed me to take pictures of the defective card for a claim but failed to provide any information on where to submit them. The very next day, I received an email stating the claim was denied. I called again and spoke with a supervisor named Lori. She confirmed that the gift card had been fraudulently used and guaranteed a replacement would be sent to me within three days. She even took my shipping information. However, the call I was promised never came. Following up, I spoke with another supervisor, Sebastian. He not only contradicted the previous agents—claiming that Macy's never requests pictures and that Lori was wrong to promise a replacement—but he also stated that Macy's was not responsible for the fraudulent use and that I was simply out of luck. He then filed another claim that was instantly denied and shockingly claimed there was no record of my previous calls. My final attempt to resolve this was with another supervisor, Shelly, who also said Macy's could not do anything. This entire situation is completely unacceptable. Macy's received the $100, and a fraudulent user also benefited, while I was left with nothing. The contradictory information, broken promises, and refusal to take any responsibility for a defective product have completely eroded my trust and loyalty. I am shocked that a company of this size has such a disorganized and unhelpful customer...
Read moreMacy's in Lakewood Center has some very nice clothes at a variety of price points. If you're looking for high-end style, you'll find something. If you're a bargain shopper, there is plenty to choose from as well. I was surprised, to say the least, to find 5 racks bursting at the seams boasting prices at $9.96 or less. Granted, they were mostly women's shirts and blouses but the sizes ranged from S to XXL with varied designs and I was able to find 10 pieces that I wanted and could afford. Please note that I don't particularly enjoy clothes shopping. The last time I bought casual clothes was 16 years ago so the clothes I bought today will last me a long time!
There is plenty of room to peruse the racks and overall the racks are maintained in an orderly fashion. They're not crammed full nor are clothes thrown about here and there.
Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired. The only human beings on the floor seem to be there only to take your money, which I found frustrating. If you're an experienced and/or self motivated shopper this might not bother you but I need some help and felt stranded in a sea of clothes. At one point, I finally found a worker pushing a 1/2 full hanging cart and asked her where I could put my future purchases while I continued to shop. She graciously told me she would hold them for me and I should follow her as she continued to wheel her cart. She didn't offer to hang my armful of clothes on her cart. She just walked away before I could ask her to hang up the heavy load, so I simply followed obediently lugging 2 heavy armfuls of clothes. Maybe I'm expecting too much but I consider her oversight terrible customer service. I understand why shopping online is so appealing.
Parking is ample but no shady spots on hot, sunny days.
So this Macy's has positive and negatives. You'll have to decide which ones are most...
Read moreI went to exchange my Este Lauder foundation that was not tested on by the first associate. She just put a monitor to my cheek and said this is the color it matched you with. Handed me the bottle, I played for it, on my merry way I went! She acted as though she was tired and didn't want to be bothered. I applied the fondation the next day , get to work. The other nurses at my office look at me like "that is not you color it's too orange. " so I go back to exchange and that associate was to busy putting up a display, so I waited till she noticed me, thinking she was going to attend to me. I was the only customer there.it wasn't until some other associate came and told her " you have a customer at the counter " I explained to her that this color was to orange I needed to exchanged it. She didn't even check or bother to match me she hands me the color chestnut, here you are this is the one next to it. Fine go hone try it on too orange with yellow tint. Ok this girls need to go back for orientation again! Their customer service was HORRIBLE! So I decided to go back that evening hoping the same associates weren't there. I go in ask to speak with an associate. I'm waiting for a bit then here comes Lucio! He looked at the fondation and said no this is your color , I can tell,, this color is too dark for you. Wow he took his time to explain the color, tried several different shades. Guess what after a few tries BAM! HE found the perfect color! I not only got the right color, I got some very useful tips on make up, and I'm 64 years old! You have a very fine associate there. Thank you ...
