I have brought phones in several times before for screen replacement and never had an issue until this time. Yesterday, I brought in my son's phone to get the screen repaired for the 4th time. (All previous times I have had batteries Plus put a screen protector on. And it didn't last long before my son broke the screen again.) I asked the manager how much it was going to be to replace my son's screen. And I was told $79. I was also told it would take 2 hours to get my screen repaired and they would call me when it's done. Almost 3 and 1/2 hours later I still have not heard from them so I decided to run over and see if the phone was done. At this point the manager who had quoted me the price had left, one of the staff members from before was there and a new young man was working behind the counter. As the new young man rang me up my total was $117 quite a difference from $79. I was obviously not happy about this price difference. The new young man called the manager who offered me a 10% discount.. To me that seems like a slap in the face. I was quoted One price then charged almost $40 more. 10% is barely covering sales tax. I never did get an answer on why I was never contacted and had to wait three and a half hours for my phone to be finished.
The only reason I'm giving this company stars at all is because of the young man who helped me. He was very nice and friendly even when I was not super nice or friendly to him. He needs an excellent employee, and to him I am sorry that I was short and rude.
The manager was very unprofessional in handling the situation. When saying the phone is going to be one price and then charging significantly more. Did not even get a new screen protector from the company this time. I ordered one from Amazon which will probably last longer than the inferior products I have been receiving. Read moreScheduled an online appointment with Batteries Plus Bulbs for a phone repair and received confirmation. Tried to call the next morning as I had a few questions about the repair beforehand. No one answered so I thought that they might be busy and went to the location. No one answered because the store was closed an hour later than their posted hours. Came back at my scheduled appointment time and was advised that the head technician wouldn't be in for another two hours and the person there was not certified to make phone repairs. Since I had an appointment, I asked what they were doing for the scheduled appointments that day (i.e. moving them, rescheduling, etc. and how long he thought the phone repair would take once the technician was in. He said that he didn't know, that he didn't even know if they had the part that they needed for my repair (even though I had gotten a confirmation) and that I would just need to come back in a couple of hours. Made it seem very SOL.
Went across the street to FIXIT Mobile who has ALWAYS been able to have my phone repaired the same day. Was one of the first ones there that morning and FIXIT Mobile had my phone repaired in 90 minutes.
So, not sure about Batteries Plus Bulbs. Maybe someone's grandma died or something, but the customer service was really poor and the way the situation was handled definitely could have been better - like offering to call when the technician was in or offering to reschedule for later in the day. Being experienced in customer service, these are the minimal things that one should be offering.
To their credit, the head technician did call me 2.5 hours later to let me know that they didn't have the part needed for the repair and they would need to order it in. At which point I advised that my phone had already been fixed and they didn't need to worry about it. No apology for the abysmal service or not honoring their appointment...
Read moreWe went in to get a phone screen replaced, simple as that. At first we were told it would only take a few hours to replace, but not too soon after they told us it would take a few days. No big deal, whatever. But, a few days later (AFTER their deadline), we had to go in after the person on duty refused to answer the store's phone at all. When we went in, we discovered that, SOMEHOW, the "repairman" (if you can call them that at all) had managed to BLOW UP THE PHONE. The fact that you can screw up that badly still amazes me. We didn't even want them to mess with the battery, nor did we ask for anything but the screen replaced. The guy we talked to initially hardly even talked to us, he was practically hiding behind a bigger guy. They then had the audacity to YELL at US for asking THEM to replace the phone that THEY BROKE.
In the end, we couldn't sue them (and trust me, we wanted to) for the damages, and they charged us for a replacement phone (which is an older and worse model than what we brought in and is used), and didn't refund a single dime. They just kept the money for the screen, the replacement phone, and "services."
We will never, EVER be coming back here. We are going to make sure that EVERYONE we know understands that this place is horrible, and should be shut down. Oh, and Bulbs + Batteries, if you're reading this, respond to this review. I will give you my email and we can "chat."
