My 1st trip to THIS Target store (even though it opened about a year ago & is actually closer to me my home than it's "closest competitor", Walmart. I was shopping for a couple very specific things that I wasn't able to find/but at Walmart just minutes prior. I've been to lots of Target stores around the country & assumed this one would fit the typical mold. And it does in some ways but I felt like I was walking into a different store, something more akin to a Kohl's or JCPenney's, only due to the initial layout upon entering. The fact that it's a store with food products, pet products, household cleaning products, etc, wasn't readily apparent upon initial entry. Of course, it has those things, but the layout was so different than a Walmart or other mass merchandiser. They had the items I needed (main item I had to find was a pair of shoes for an outdoor wedding later that same day & I had some decent options to choose from), but the prices are & always have been, higher than Walmart & supposedly the quality accounts for that difference. Perhaps that's true in the apparel sections but obviously the universal products, like Clorox wipes or diapers or detergent that are national brands, there's no logical reason to pay more for those items when there's a Walmart and 3 grocery stores within œ mile. So that's sort of my problem with Target. They are more expensive for unknown reasons when the exact, identical items can be found for less within walking distance. The clothes are more comparable to Kohl's than Walmart & I feel like I'm being asked to pay more for everyday items simply because they project an image of being more upscale. And that's why I don't make Target my regular "household needs" shopping site -- I feel manipulated by "our clothing is higher quality & our facilities are more modern" -- I don't care. If I need Dawn dish soap or paper plates, I couldn't care less about the apparel sections or store design. I have always felt like Target wants to promote this "upscale mass merchandiser" and therefore feel justified in charging more $$ for "the experience". Target is a backup for me for when I cannot locate appropriate items at Walmart. This doesn't mean I dislike them, I simply do not choose them as my primary source for much of anything. Even for clothes, shoes, home decor, etc, this particular Target is in the same plaza as a TJ Maxx and around the corner from a Home Goods, which are definitely more direct competition for those genres of goods. I just think it's a tough sell, for...

Read moreYou can ignore most of the negative reviews here. They're all complaining about a brand new store that has only been open since around Black Friday. If shelves were empty it's probably because... Oh I don't know... People were Black Friday & Holiday shopping, on top the store trying finish getting up and running and get their Inventory stocked to begin with. Everyone there is very nice and helpful. As for everything in Electronics being locked up, perhaps if people didn't steal, things wouldn't have to be locked up, and employees wouldn't have to run around unlocking everything. It's no different than any other retailer in West Lebanon. I don't blame them for wanting to secure their merchandise. As for staffing, everyone is having a hard time staffing, so leaving rude reviews about it isn't going to get them to hire anyone any faster. Thanks for coming...
