Don’t go in unless you are white! My Hispanic husband and I were visiting the area and had a little time to kill before our dinner reservation. We walked into Honeychurch and my husband sat while I shopped. We were the only people in the store and were not greeted. My husband found a coffee table book about Porsches that he was thumbing through (carefully). I saw there was another book on classic cars, which we own, so I showed him that book as well. The very uptight sales associate came over and sputtered, “Be careful, those books are very expensive.” Her tone was completely condescending. The books were $125 each. Hardly “ very expensive “. Another reprimanded me for misunderstanding their sign: “Antique rugs downstairs, ask for help” which i interpreted to mean you can look, but ask if you want to buy ….but they meant to “don’t go downstairs.” Even after an apology from me, she went on about how i should have read the sign and asked before going down.
