I’m typically a big fan of Lululemon, which is why I was excited to stop by the outlet store - key word: was. Unfortunately, this visit made me seriously question the standards this brand holds for its employees.
While trying on in the fitting rooms, I had the pleasure of overhearing a full-blown shit talking session from several employees trashing their managers and upper management. Loudly. For quite a while. Maybe save the gossip for after hours and not while customers are less than ten feet away?
Then came the yoga mat incident. I was eyeing one that looked oddly discolored - likely sun damage or a manufacturing flaw (which I figured might be why it was in an outlet store in the first place). I went to compare it to other mats on display since there was no one around to ask. Surprise: an employee magically appears only to scold me about not touching the display mat. Not a greeting, not a “can I help you?”—just attitude.
When I asked about the discoloration, she very firmly (and very rudely) insisted it was “the lighting” and the mat was meant to look that way. Funny - because as I was leaving, I saw that same employee gathering three others to inspect the mats and quietly taking several to the back. So… guess they weren’t “meant to look that way” after all?
I don’t mind a product having flaws at an outlet store. I do mind being treated like I’m imagining things, being gaslit as to what I’m seeing with my own eyes, and then proven right with no acknowledgment. The passive aggression, the unprofessionalism, and the clear lack of customer care made this a truly disappointing visit.
I’ve always appreciated Lululemon’s commitment to quality… but if this is the kind of energy they’re allowing in their stores, especially from staff who don’t even know how to speak to customers with basic respect, I’ll be thinking twice before shopping...
Read moreBeware. I had a manager tell me that I can exchange items for different ones within the same category, and still get the promo (I even clarified this with her), and when I came to do that (within 20 days), same manager proceeded to create new conditions and lie to my face.
Suddenly, the exchange needed to happen in 1-2 days; why was this never mentioned? Why does the outlet tell people they have 1 year to exchange, and why does Lululemon have a global policy of 30 days then?
Also, I would now need to pay more since the outlet promo changed. However, the promos here change daily, and it takes awhile for a different size or color to come in; why tell me I can exchange at the same promo when you never planned to uphold that? The cherry was when she told me that if an exchange item was now on a promotion for less money than I paid, I would "lose that $10, but it would even out over time." WHAT?!?! No, it doesn't. That's called taking advantage of the customer. Who created a policy where the promo only applies when it is favorable to Lululemon? Who hired this woman?
I have repeatedly heard outlet employees aggressively push customers to buy items they are unsure about with that exchange policy safety net. Also, isn't there this whole satisfaction and sustainability push from Lulu? I think shoving product down a customer's throat and then lying about the exchange policy kinda goes against that..maybe?
Hmmm...Lulu is really starting to remind me of Abercrombie...

Their variety and selection are really interesting. Their place is so huge, their interior is really interesting, and they have a great atmosphere. Once you visit you will absolutely feel welcomed and relaxed. They will greet you when you enter the place, show a big smile to you, and even assist you while finding and getting all the things you need. Their staff is really helpful, friendly, nice, and decent. They all know how to properly talk and treat the customers so well. All of them are working so fast and quick. Outstanding service. This place is very convenient. Their location is very accessible, it is so easy to find, and they are also near to other well-known and most visited places around the area. Lululemon is exceptional!
