I had a horrible experience here. When I was checking out, there was a cashier who seemed friendly at first. It said her name was Kathleen on the recipt. Then Then when I had to return something, she started criticizing what I was returning. I return some food items that I no longer need. She then asked me if I was sure if I wanted to return it as they would have to throw it away. She then went and said loudly that, are you sure?" And kept making judgments. She was saying you should only purchase what you need so we won't have to throw it away, because then that's the reason why the prices go up. I kept saying no, I needed to return it. I needed the money. She then made a big gesture about throwing it in the trash, right in front of me. She was very loud while doing this as and there were a lot of customers lined up behind me. She tried to keep it upbeat and positive, but in a very sarcastic and snide remarks. I felt humiliated.I wanted to cry at that point, too. After I said I just needed the money, she processed it and then said, "Here you go, at least you get your money now." I was so distraught that I didn't know what to say, and I didn't want to make a scene there. I looked all over for a manager but only saw one employee that was on the register, and I didn't want to make a scene. I went to talk to them. I explained what had happened, and I also told them how I felt. They did explain that it was policy that they had to throw it away, which I did not know before, and they did apologize for what happened. They said they would speak to the lady. I am not sure if anything was done. I don't think anyone should judge because you don't know their circumstances. Also, an employee should never do that to a customer. I'm still distraught over it and still think about how that person might do something like that two others. This this employee had glasses female in karen style like hair, blonde, and hair. That was sticking straight up. I understand life gets in the way, but we shouldn't treat others like that to where they end up crying. I plan never to go to this location again. I would rather drive farther to another location than have to deal...
Read moreI just returned from what was my last trip to the store. Here is the story:
I was excited when Aldi opened a few months ago. I expected to find some European/German quality items I could not find in other local grocery stores. The promise of low prices is a bonus, but not what excites me.
So why was today my last trip to the store: Well, not having regular shopping baskets and using a quarter to unlock a cart (I never carry quarters, so a cart is not an option) is annoying. The way the cashiers shove the groceries into a cart at the cash register is more annoying, especially as I always place my shopping bag so the cashier can put the item in the bag or elsewhere with the same ease. Today, the cashier elected to cram the groceries with force on the side of the bag. So I asked why she did not place the items in the bag, and the response was very unfriendly: "We don't bag." She also offered to speak to a manager, who, she said, would answer the same. Furthermore, I was the only customer at the checkout, so placing the items in my bag would not affect the checkout experience of any other customers.
So why was this the last visit to Aldi? I have been disappointed by the considerable lack of, what I hoped, would be European/German quality items, the shopping cart situation, but maybe most about the complete lack of customer care, like the meaningless pleasantries exchanged with cashiers at other grocery stores and especially the unwillingness to do ever the slightest work outside, what I assume, is their work...
Read morePrices are at an all time high most everywhere, we were pleasantly surprised about the prices offered at this location We had a cart full with regular and I have to admit, articles that are not necessary, like the little coke bottles, but, at 6 bucks per six pack I couldn't resist It's been a while since I purchased a regular size bag of dog food for 10 bucks. The produce department is full of good variety and the prices are most competitive They cut cost by having few people on the floor I was shocked to see that. In order to get your shipping cart you need to pay $0.25 Yes you read correctly, your quarter will be a deposit, once you return the cart inside the store and hook it to the rest the quarter its given back Now that is thinking with intelligence
This location was almost empty, perhaps they just opened, it is very clean and well lighten Doing the math compare to places like smart and final and other discount stores This one is the one that helps you stretch each dollar bill My only regret is that this posting will bring more clients, meaning we have little time to enjoy it as is...
