If I could I would give this place a rating of 3.5 overall.
The pros of coming here is the rooftop view and our instructor was great in teaching us how to do pottery. I overall had a great learning experience. We came to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday which was a pretty cool way to celebrate. They do provide apron and tools for you. They also provide tripods for you to film yourself which I appreciated
Here are the cons. I feel like their system needs a lot updating. When you come in for your class schedule, the other class is still working. So one class ends at 1pm and the other class starts at 1pm. There is no buffer time in between which I think they desperately need. It feels overwhelming when you see people waiting for you and the pressure to hurry up cleaning. I’d highly recommend for them to add a 15 minute buffer time between classes.
They also make you clean your stations and wash all the things you use. I don’t have a big problem with helping to clean, but for a $90 dollar experience and seeing people rush you to wash your things it’s not a good way to end the session. Again, a 15 minute buffer would help so that their employees can help the instructor clean and prep for the next time can help resolve this problem.
3.Their communication in regards to the firing process is inconsistent. On the website, it says the firing process takes 4-5 weeks, but then on another part of the website it says 7-8 weeks. I also feel like the way they keep record of who’s pottery is who is flimsly and very easy to lose track of. They have you write your name and contact info on a small piece of paper and then leave it on your pottery. I honestly felt like they are going to lose my paper and I wouldn’t be surprised if they accidentally misplaced someone’s pottery too. I also tried calling for an update and their voicemail is full.
Overall the teaching and actual doing of the pottery was good to me overall a 4/5. But the logistics side of this business is not making it a fun experience. If they can clean up that aspect of their business then I’d be more confident...
Read moreI was really looking forward to this pottery class with two friends, but it turned out to be a disappointing experience. We specifically booked and paid extra for an evening rooftop class, but when we arrived, it was held indoors on their top floor — no rooftop, no view, and no communication ahead of time about the change.(see picture on how small the room area was) Sure it may "just be $10" for the outside rooftop area, but it was still extra and it adds up. We weren’t even able to step outside and look around.
The instructor was also not very encouraging or helpful. He spent about 30 minutes demonstrating the entire process while we just sat and watched — then told us to go ahead and make it ourselves. He then proceeds to continue to just walk around the class and point out our errors rather than teach us how to fix them so we can have a functional piece. As beginners, it was overwhelming to try and remember everything without any real guidance. Instead of giving helpful tips, he mostly pointed out what not to do after we had already made a mistake, or just said something wasn’t possible without explaining why. With only 5 people total in the class, there was really no excuse for the lack of support. He had no sort of energy or enthusiasm which made our whole experience uneventful.
We recently picked up our piece after 2.5/3 months (which btw we had 0 communication for that they were going to need more than 7-9 weeks). One of my friends piece was glazed and shiny while our other 2 pieces were dull and seemed like it was just painted over last minute. We are genuinely upset when we saw the finished product.
Overall, the experience didn’t match the price point at all. It felt misleading and underwhelming, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to others looking for a fun or beginner-friendly pottery class. There are better, faster, and cheaper pottery studios that i would recommend to...
Read moreMe and my friend made our pieces on 7/24 and today is 10/18 I still didn’t get any notice from them. They said it took 4-6 weeks to pick up our pieces so we waited until 6 weeks passed.
I contacted them on 9/15 which is 7 weeks later from 7/24 and they said “ We are almost to your date! I am so sorry about the delay. We are currently working through 7/22 and 7/23 so hopefully you will receive a text from us in the next few days that your pieces are ready for pick up!” So we were waiting again. And today(10/15) I didn’t get any text or email from them so I sent the email again.
They called me and I missed their call so I called to them again. I just talked to one of them and she said one of our pieces was broken thats why they are so delayed to noticed to us. They just said sorry your friend’s piece is broken and it occasionally happened. And thats it. No alternative solution or something. Also I don’t get if it’s broken why didn’t they tell us earlier? This was heard right after I contacted to them through email. Me and my friend never get calls from them before. That was very unprofessional.
Also there is no specific alternative plan when pieces are broken. I asked for alternative class or something but she told me they might offer alternative class but that is not sure too until she got answers from their manager.
I enjoyed my classes and started to love making a pottery by myself. I was going to make an another appointment when I receive my piece. I usually don’t write reviews and I was wondering that if there is similar experience of mine from google reviews. I see there are lots of good reviews about them, yes it happens everywhere and pieces can broken. But class fee is not cheap, there is no quick solution and makes me think again about...
