"VOTED BEST WAFFLE IN AMERICA"?! I don't think so. Let's start with the good....our server even though a little slow was friendly and I could tell she was doing her best. It was the food that really disappointed me...actually to a degree where I felt almost ripped off. Here's why: When you go to a waffle place that specialized in waffles...you expect their waffles to be fresh! We waited close to 25 min, but I figured if it's fresh then it's worth the wait. The waffle was very stale, old and crunchy....like it had been sitting out the day before and they just refrigerated it over night and served the next day. Toppings are additional cost..which to be honest, is a bit surprising...considering most people expect something on their waffle (and this place is not cheap). The Poached Eggs Plate was equally disappointing. I almost let out a chuckle when it got served. I've had better eggs and sausage at McDonald's - no seriously! The sausage was hard and too greasy and the eggs were your average tasteless...low quality with no seasoning eggs...if you're going to put paprika on eggs...sprinkle at least a little salt. Voted Best Waffle...No! and unfortunately I won't go back even for ...well...anything. You don't charge prices like this...where everything is additional like it's a steakhouse...and then serve your customers that degree...

I ordered a matcha latte and “The Elvis” (which included a waffle topped with natural peanut butter, maple bacon, slices of banana and a drizzle of honey). The matcha latte was delicious, I got it warm. The Elvis was very savory and although the employee serving me gave me a bottle of maple syrup he said that I might not even need it and he was correct. The portion was also perfect.
The service is what really brought me to this 5-Star rating. The employee working when I went was Jose, he was such a great person. I was the only customer in at the time and he was very helpful giving me advice on the menu items and just chatting about life.
I tried giving him a cash tip before I left, but he wouldn’t accept it and simply said, “Just come back and bring a friend!” He mentioned that he enjoyed working there and that the customers & community keep him motivated.
Jose is the kind of person you want to have working for you and I will definitely find my way back here to say hi and enjoy a...
Read moreReally chill environment. Wasn't crowded and the vibe is very cozy and relaxing. David was very welcoming and helpful. I suppose it's easy to become apathetic about your job after a while, but he greeted me with enthusiasm and explained the menu very well - including letting me sample the speculoos and explaining what cold brew coffee was and that their waffles are made with a dough instead of batter. His recommendations were excellent and I enjoyed my waffle and Mocha Latte (which I appreciated for it's more subtle chocolate approach).
There's lots of seating and it seems laptop friendly. This would be a great place to get some work down. My only disappointment is with the operating hours - I feel that they close a little too early for my schedule, which means I won't get to be here as often as I'd like, but I also realize my expectations might be really high. Coming from NYC, I love late night culture. Guess I'll have to stick to Crave Cafe for my midnight oil.
Overall, this place was really neat, menu was easy enough to understand and I feel you really get that eclectic cafe...
