Hands down the best Mac repair shop in Hollywood if not LA. Melrose Mac had been unbelievably rude; Mac Horizon caused problems for friends’ machines; the Apple store couldn’t distinguish an iPhone screen protector from a cracked screen, trying to sell me a new phone (and of course they really want to sell new devices not repair what you’ve got). What’s a tech nerd to do?
For over 20 years I depended on DiNo, having seen their exemplary support for CalArts labs, but often Pasadena was just too far away and there are certain repairs they just don’t do. What better recommendation could I find than from their repair guys? They pointed me to DV warehouse.
I had a bevy of quasi Jurassic Macs that I wanted to restore before relocating from LA. I also have some important software that won’t run on new Macs. Carol and her techs got them all running for reasonable prices and supplied a working older MacBook Pro to keep the software functioning. She also pointed me to some suppliers for the older adapters and cables.
While you may only have to deal with them by mail, they also have some amazing outsider art paintings on the wall thanks to her husband’s art businesses. I encourage you to support their business because repair shops this good are few and far between, and sorely needed in this age of...
Read moreI don't know how helpful my review will be, because my experiences are not all that recent, but I have bought two Apple laptops and a small range of parts from DV Warehouse and I have been thoroughly satisfied each time. The parts were hard to find elsewhere at the same price, and the laptops came as advertised and have lasted a number of years. I am typing this on an early 2008 MacBook Pro that I bought in late 2010. I had to replace the battery and in late 2013 I had to replace the logic board.
The plastic parts on the screen frame are starting to crack off, but that is more a function of the number of international trips I've taken with this laptop than anything else. If I thought I could fix it for less than half the cost of updating (probably through DV Warehouse again) I would repair this workhorse that has had no problem running El Capitán.
I am a little surprised that people would use the term "scam artist" to refer to DV Warehouse. I have dealt in the past with some truly devious scam artists selling Apple parts/laptops, and DV Warehouse has ALWAYS been easy to deal with and has stood behind their products. When I look for Apple laptops without the price tag of Apple Store, I always think of DV Warehouse and OWC. Other than that, I can't think of anyone I would...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of using the services of this DV Warehouse and I am extremely impressed with the level of professionalism and expertise that was demonstrated throughout the process. It felt so good to drive to a place and pick up a very rare part that only seemed available if you bought it online and they shipped it to you. At DV Warehouse not only do they have a wide range of electronic parts but they are handy and ready to help you with any last minute repair you may have.
From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with a friendly smile and prompt service from Carol. She listened carefully to my concerns and provided a thorough diagnosis of the issue with my MacBook Pro. I brought my MacBook Pro where the keyboard wasn’t working and by the end of the day, the repair was completed in a miracle manner and at a very reasonable price.
But what really sets this repair shop apart is the level of customer service. Carol and the staff went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and make sure that I understood the repair process. Overall, I would give this DV Warehouse repair shop a solid 5 stars. I will definitely be returning for any future repairs and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of reliable,...
