Well I’ll start with the positives: • Its Catholic • Has SOME good, HONEST priest (2/3) • Fr. JT has a great mind on him and great vision • Fr. Mike has glorious homilies and really has a way of connecting with people • Historic building and terrific architecture • beautiful statues and alters along with stained glass Now some negatives: • Extremely liberal, and I get its Los Angeles but consistently says things like we “pray for common sense changes to gun laws” also has a lgbt group that has held extremely questionable events, has had a pride mass , even held a church event at the dodgers game the week of the drag event that all Catholics are being called to boycott by the bishop. I think it’s important to be aware that not everyone agrees with certain points of views and by saying and doing these things they’re creating a divide. • Not reverent. Seriously gives Protestant vibes. The amount of standing or just siting during the presentation of the Eucharist is insane. The music is modern and contemporary which is fine being that that’s the trend but definitely rarely does anything traditional (hymns, Gregorian chants) • Uses way too many Eucharistic ministers. I don’t know if it’s laziness or trying to involve everyone but for the amount of attendees(25-50% of capacity) they use 3-4 when they’re technically only supposed to be used “ only when there is no priest, deacon or acolyte, when the priest is impeded by illness or advanced age, or when the number of the faithful going to communion is so large as to make the celebration of Mass excessively long” which is not the case because they have the other priest doing nothing during the time, and the mass is 40 minutes. • CLOSED WAY TOO OFTEN. I know Priest need breaks and have family but seriously this parish is closed all the time. • Band is upfront and center of attention. There’s a reason the balcony was made in the back… it’s for the band! They even closed a whole alter area to accommodate the band being there. Kinda more proof they don’t belong there. They take them up first for communion creating a weird image and often they direct the attention towards them. The focus should be getting the congregation to participate not “oooh pay attention to the singers” it’s mass not a concert. The music intention is to provide praise to God not to provide attention to one persons singing. • As mentioned before, had the head Priest lie straight to me. Even when confronted with facts he continued lies. It’s fine with a church so big theres gonna be bad apples but definitely lost respect. I will say the sacrament are still the sacraments no matter the priest so don’t have those heretical thoughts

I’m afraid without changes, just as it lost its school, it too may disappear. Return to reverence! Return to service. I gave this church many chances but they focus on social events and not needs. While still better than a Protestant service… doesn’t set the bar too high. God bless you all and please pray for me as I will for you! May we all join the...

I just came home from this place (June 4 2023). It was a terrible and frustrating experience.

1.) Very unorganized. I can't even tell you what the lesson was for the day. There was no pamphlet as a guide. The book that was handed out did not correlate with what the father was even discussing. He spoke very briefly about giving and receiving gifts. 2.) The band sounded nice but finding the lyrics to sing along was a huge nuisance. You have to navigate to the website with your phone and hope you find the correct song. Then the page that the lyrics are on is very fidgety. You try to scroll to the next verse and it jumps to another part of the page. I could not imagine how challenging this would be if you weren't tech savvy. Do to the lack of simple access to these lyrics you can see the majority of the audience was completely checked-out and unengaged whenever the band would play. The music should be what captivates the audience and brings everyone to a higher vibration. Honestly, how hard is it to buy tv screens and mount them? Very pathetic actually considering people are giving their hard earned money every week as an offering. 3.) This lady showed up very late and brought in her French Bulldog. I am a dog owner myself so obviously I love dogs but I could not even hear or focus on what the father was saying because the dog was so noisy. Which was frustrating because he did not say much anyway. 4.) Lastly, I have to mention that father Jack was very disappointing when speaking to him afterward. He was a back-handed jerk with a fresh mouth. When I mentioned that the dog was very distracting he smirked and said "Well this is LA, hahaha." Okay Jack, yeah you're right, I'm the idiot huh for wanting the be able hear what's going on in the middle of the service. And then when I brought up the website with the lyrics to his attention he said "Well is it better than no lyrics? We use to not even have the lyrics at all." as he chuckled again. To answer your seemingly rhetorical question the answer is NO, Jack. It is not better. It's a disaster. Especially when the solution is as simple as printing out the songs and having folders available for guests. Do better Father Jerk. You're suppose to be someone the community can look up to. Start acting like it because from what I can tell you're a disgrace.

Peace...

This church serves meals 5 days a week for the unhoused. Plenty of the time the meals are cold they only offer water with the meals which is great I enjoy a glass of water just never seen anything else offered. On Saturday's perishable and non-perishable items are offered. Very rarely are there any mens clothing to select from women's clothing always plentyful. Just bear in mind for noon day lunches you will have to waiting in the hot sun outside this beautiful and very large church, you have to find a restroom some where other then here passing through for a meal they will not let you use a restroom on the property. This also goes for Saturday as well, where in both situations you are set on the side walk so the public have a great view of this Alpha and Omega God's goodwill to man kind. Please don't be made or going unhoused in California they will keep you there as long as possible. It's probably why Karen Bass major of Los Angeles can't account for 2 billion dollars of unhoused funds, had to pay whistler blowers $800,000 and would not release to the public tax payer the information on the corruption and how high up it has gone. This is also within the unhoused development. And the ironic coincidence or is it a coincidence that it seems to always be a female manager, female lawyer or something like of that sort which is always at the Head of very close in the background of all this corruption outbreaks all of a sudden. It looking more and more like that of a...

According to International Law sunday is the last day of the week. For a long time there was a compromise just like we compromise and stand up during the Gospel reading. It is important to designate Sunday as the last day because it would be too easy to celebrate renewal with the new week. We must be able to celebrate renewal even at the end of a week that might not have been an experience we wanted to have. There was a pope who wanted to make sure that the music in church leads us to the glory of the Priesthood and the Sacraments and not away from it. When the priest stands up the music stops even if its mid song or right before the last few chords. We could try a drums and vocals combo omitting other instruments to prepare us for pilgrimage. Meanwhile let's beautify our church there is trash urine excrement and blood streaking the church property. We cannot even open the main entrance at every mass for safety and sanctity reasons. We should consider outsourcing the charity kitchen enterprise. If we are the mother church we should fund community projects of the churches who want to learn the Bible on their own and dont have our patience let them also focus on feeding the homeless and every penny we fund we see how its spent. Only for the food operation and not towards building up any potential that any krisschin will ever again say that the blessed mother is gone or that our mother church is old. We may or may not fund. No bubble gum money

I visited the Blessed Sacrament Hollywood with my better half for Sunday Mass. It's in a convenient spot right in the heart of Hollywood, which made it easy to get to and there is ample parking. The staff—especially Martha, Samantha, and Janine—were friendly, engaging, and accommodating, which helped us feel at ease and welcomed. Father Paul gave a sincere, well-thought-out sermon that seemed to really connect with the parishioners. It was relatable and heartfelt. Their website is simple to navigate, and they keep their Instagram pretty active, which is nice if you want to stay updated. It's a great place to deepen your faith with a grounded, approachable community. We will definitely be part of the parish.
