This was our 2nd trip to LA and I was super excited to find a new hotel was being built near Hollywood Blvd and booked it immediately. Overall, the stay was very pleasant with only one minor let down. I had some reservations leading up to our trip based on reading recent reviews, but found that many of the claims were either resolved or dramatized. For the let down - We booked a King Balcony Room (which later got renamed to a Superior Terrace King). This was my biggest curiosity leading up to the trip as I didn't know what kind of view to expect from this balcony. Upon checking in, I realized why the name changed to "terrace". There isn't much of a view unless you try to stand on the chairs present which isn't safe and not recommended. Smoking is unfortunately not allowed in these areas (only on the rooftop and outside the front door). The terrace is pretty large - almost feels like a 2nd room) which is very nice but I feel the lack of outdoor furniture makes it feel almost... unnecessary? The chairs are not comfortable to sit in for long periods and there is no sun shade incase you want to just be outside but not bake under the sun. With no view, we really didn't use this terrace at all and unfortunately, paid a nice upgrade for it. Lessons learned on our part. Other than that, the hotel lived up to our expectations. The room had plenty of space for the two of us, as well as, storage for our luggage/items. The bathroom was by farrrr the best part of the room and the pictures don't do it justice. Shower/water pressure is a big thing for me and this took the cake on best hotel shower I've come across in my life - after a full day of driving/walking all over LA, I didn't feel tired or sore thanks to this shower alone. The bed and pillows were comfy. The additional furniture in the room added value and style to the experience. Wifi and TV worked well during our stay with no issues. Didn't hear any noise outside of the room. The valet service was timely and accommodating. Front desk and housekeeping were exceptional and very helpful. We only visited the rooftop our first night and unfortunately had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency so we didn't get to view the Hollywood sign during the day time. My only recommendation for future bookers is to consider booking the Hill or City View Room if you're wanting a nice view from the room rather than the terrace. They've renamed their rooms better now which is a step in the right direction. Also if you're worried about location, this location was central and perfect to our itinerary (which included East LA, Echo Park, Unviersal, NoHo, Santa Monica, and Venice with the option to be near Hollywood for daytime/nighttime activities and not worry about parking). You also can't beat having all of this for the price. Would recommend anyone here in the future!

I needed a room at the last minute and was lucky to find the Whisky Hotel Hollywood just steps from my event venue. Booking and parking were both easy. The front desk staff were down-to-earth, friendly, and welcoming. The hotel’s classic, upscale decor was a major highlight, and the art throughout made it feel like I was staying in a gallery. The rate was surprisingly low—under $250 for one night, even with valet parking. It’s also within walking distance of the Hollywood Walk of Fame and other tourist attractions. Best of all, the rooftop breakfast bar was generous, with eggs, toast, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, pastries, oatmeal, burritos, cheeses, and meats. The rooftop lounge also offered a relaxing space (lots of cool places to sit) with a great view of the Hollywood Hills. I had originally planned to stay with a friend, but when she got sick, this turned out to be the perfect backup. I’d absolutely stay here again. The only thing I would say is that the hallways are very dark. For someone with limited vision (or old eyes like mine), that could be challenging.

Recently stayed at a charming hotel in Hollywood and was thoroughly impressed. The location is excellent—just steps away from the Hollywood Walk of Fame—making it perfect for exploring the area. The interior is gorgeously decorated with rich baroque-inspired touches that give the space a dramatic, atmospheric feel. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, made even more memorable with a complimentary whiskey shot on arrival. Valet parking is available, adding convenience to the stay. My room was clean and comfortable, and while the breakfast is simple, it’s more than enough—and served on the rooftop, which offers a beautiful view and a great start to the day. The only problem was the lack of WiFi signal on the 6th floor. We were told it would be fixed soon and offered a different room on a lower floor.

Where do I even begin. Great decor and location for sure rooms were cute and a good size but wow customer service absolutely horrific. My boyfriend and I booked this hotel thinking it would be a nice! Adults only and they advertise a decent deposit amount. or so you think! Once we arrived they stated its actually $150 per night for a deposit where as on 3rd party apps they say its $150 flat. Weird. Thankfully they accommodated what they advertise, We were there from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon and not once did we get fresh towels and or fresh bed sheets. I really tired to be lenient and understanding since its a new hotel that just opened. But once the cleaning staff decided to clean only our room at 6pm when we weren't there and we had the do not disturb sign on the door that's when I started feeling uneasy and overall not comfortable being there. I've never stayed at a hotel where I feel uneasy and confused on why they were in there even with the dnd sign on the door. We went down to complain and ask for fresh towels and while waiting for the front desk another woman who was also staying there was complaining about her items in the bathroom being missing! So I did what any person would do once they hear that and looked though my things and noticed my boyfriend was missing some clothes and I was missing jewelry. Once we spoke to a manager about the missing items and they opened an investigation on it they came to the discission to just do absolutely nothing about it! Just told us sorry but were taking the loss on the items and they're backing there thieving staff in the situation AWESOME! So if you want to stay somewhere where they take your things and go into your room even when you have the do not disturb on the room then by all means this place is great! overall will never be returning to this joke of a hotel they put all this money in making the place look nice but not actually seeing who...

Total Scam and Disappointment for a “4-Star” Hotel

Stay from August 16 to 29, 2025, at Whisky Hotel, booked via Carrefour Voyage. A deposit of $600 (≈593 €) was taken, of which €393.60 (≈$416) was retained without any proof of damages, plus non-existent “Expedia” fees of $30/night + taxes. I had to open a Revolut dispute to recover my money.

The room did not match the photos: view of the roof of the building across the street, classic and worn furniture, faulty electrical outlets, minimal storage (4 hangers, no closed wardrobe), small table with no desk, insufficient toiletries (no shampoo, no facial care, no cotton swabs), leaking coffee machine with only 2 coffee pods and 2 sugar sachets, no minibar, no iron or ironing board, no bathrobe or slippers.

Missing or misleading services: no room service, no pool, no gym, poor breakfast, no restaurant despite the website advertising one. Hotel entrance looks like a parking garage, cheap décor, and insufficient security.

I am a French tourist, and one of the reception staff, John, displayed a condescending and arrogant attitude. I felt it bothered him that I could use my iPhone to translate, given my limited English.

Only positive points: friendly rooftop staff and partial view of the Hollywood Sign.

Conclusion: abusive, misleading, and overpriced hotel. Hidden fees, excessive deposit, and unfulfilled promises. Absolutely avoid. I have already contacted my bank and plan to report these practices to the relevant...
