I’ve been coming to Superba for years with my service dog, always feeling welcomed and respected—until today.
I usually sit alone at a small corner booth with my service dog by my side, out of everyone’s way. His proximity is essential, as he monitors my heart rate. Today, I was approached by someone named Akara, who introduced herself as the general manager. She asked if my dog was a service animal, and I politely said yes and offered to show his ID. She told me it wasn’t necessary, which I appreciated.
However, once I was seated, a floor manager named Jet told me I couldn’t have my dog next to me due to “health standards.” My dog was quietly resting against the wall, not bothering anyone. I explained that I’ve been coming here for years and that this has never been an issue. Still, she insisted and didn’t even offer an alternative like outdoor seating.
To make matters worse, my server—clearly uncomfortable with how things were handled—tried to advocate on my behalf and spoke to Akara again. She flat-out refused. My server was embarrassed, apologized to me personally, and even asked me not to leave him a tip, which was heartbreaking.
This experience felt less like a matter of policy and more like a pretentious personal choice disguised as “health standards.” I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and hurt.
What used to be a warm, welcoming place has now lost my trust. I will not be returning, and I truly hope Superba re-evaluates how it trains its management—especially when it comes to compassion, respect, and accommodating loyal guests with legitimate...

I went in for lunch at 11 AM on 5/14
Hostess wasn’t rude, but hardly warm. She seated me right next to an industrial fan on the patio that was unnecessarily on. I asked to move and saw two other tables after me have the same experience. The patio was shaded and cool enough at 11 AM…seems pretty obvious to not kill the vibe with industrial power air blowing cold air on you and overpowering the space w sound.
They were understaffed and one guy was trying to take care of 6 or so tables that all arrived around my time.
I ordered a turkey club. I was the first table to get food on the patio. My fries were cold and the turkey on the sandwich was dry on the edges like it had been sitting exposed in a fridge too long. I let the server know and he couldn’t have been nicer. He removed that (and my latte) from the bill. He offered to bring me something else but bc food quality was poor because of obvious mishandling of food, I’m wasn’t confident anything else is safe or sanitary. So I declined. Don’t serve customers old/expired food. Ever. Period.
I appreciate the server fixing things the best he could; but I’ll probably never go back knowing they are that sloppy with simple things like food protection and basic service, like how to seat people comfortably.
Another server arrived to help by the time I left and he read the room of one of the tables and unplugged one of the fans. I clapped. Shame the hostess couldn’t be bothered with taking care of...
