Great fun and great experience! The staff was helpful and friendly from check-in, to seating and throughout the entire taping. We're big fans of the show but I think anyone interested to see how talk shows get done would enjoy this. The production is a fine tuned machine where everybody knows their role and executes it perfectly.
Our show had great guests - Charlize Theron, Brian Cox (the Dad on the HBO hit series Succession), a taped segment by comedian Todd Glass in Vegas and as a bonus a new band that's getting a lot of attention - The Marcus King Band.
Some pre-show things to know......we had priority seats and got in line at 2:30 for the 3:00 check in. We were about 10th in line. Once you're checked in you get a wrist band and if you're with someone one of you can leave the line and walk around, bring back a snack etc. and the other person can hold your place in line.
For our show they let us in to the studio around 4:30 and the actual taping of the show started around 5:30. Once inside they give you several opportunities to use the restroom before the show starts. We were seated in the first row on the side. From that vantage point you see everything up close and really get a sense of things but the t.v. cameras do block your view. For the most part you do not get to pick where you sit.
Our show took about two hours but that's because of the bonus musical performance. Note: the musical performance we saw at our show will actually be used as the musical guest for a show the following week.
Thanks Jimmy Kimmel team for a...
Read moreNice and easy going experience, would recommend to tourists and locals alike. In a local turned tourist accompanying someone from overseas, and let me tell ya we all had a banging good time being the audience for a taping of Jimmy Kimmel. First time being a studio audience. 10/10 would recommend. Quintessential Hollywood experience for free! You get to see celebrities, be on TV (sort of), really be in the heart of show biz.
Tickets are free, book ahead of time on 1iota, keep in mind musical guests and the interview portion of the show may be two separate audiences so you may not get to see the musical guest if you are an indoor studio audience.
Line up about 45 min - 1 hour ahead of time should do it. Don't bring too much stuff. I was told to not bring any bags but actually small purses were allowed. Go to the bathroom time before lining up. But there's also a bathroom inside...
Read moreHad a fantastic experience. Applied for 2 tix via 1Iota a cpl months ago I think (for the Jan. 28th show with Ringo Starr and Noah Centineo.) Found out the week prior to the show that we were picked and that tix were in our name. Hear some people complain about what they are to do upon arrival. Folks ... it's Hollywood Blvd., and organizers HAVE to be strict. We were early and were just taking in the sites, approached one of the staff (she'd pbly been asked this same question a MILLION times) and we asked when we should start lining up. She actually SMILED and pointed out the exact spot we should be in 45 minutes.
As for the show, things move FAST. We were ushered in, given a restroom break before taping, and treated to some entertainment.
Here ya go, 1Iota and Jimmy Kimmel live staff... 5...
