I had a terrible experience and I feel slightly racially profiled. I passed through last night to ask about prices and availability and a gentleman told me it would cost $20 for the night. I came back today and a lady told me the same thing. When I asked to pay early she said “no you have to pay tonight if you’re coming tonight, you can pay from 9pm”. I came back and another lady was there. I’d had a rough night and was exhausted and just wanted to get some sleep. I have my Afro out I’m clearly exhausted, I’m wearing sport like attire and I’m pulling around my heavy suitcase with me. On arrival it was apparent that the receptionist was clearly disturbed or uncomfortable by me even being there it was written all over her face. When I said I was there to book the spatel for the night she said “ no we’re fully booked for tonight ” baring in mind I was earlier told that I could only book from 9pm and I arrived specifically at 8:50 so that I could be early and avoid any issues” I now have no where to stay. So to prove my theory correct I called up and put on a different accent and asked if the spatel was available and how much she said “yes and it’s $20 you come here ” I went back and there was the man there from the previous night. I said I’m going to pay for my room. I could tell he didn’t want me to stay there. I gave him my payment and he asked for my I.d so I gave him my drivers lisense (Texas state) and he said we only accept “California state i.d” I said “this is my drivers lisense how is this not a valid form of I.d? Additionally the vast majority of people that stay here are from Korea ? ” And he looked at me and smiled as if to say “please leave” I will be taking my...
Read moreI came here pre-pandemic & it was a nice stay, it had these cubical-like beds with storage in one big room & some activities rooms to watch TV & do your work, all for $45. BUT sorry to say it was TERRIBLE when I stayed here on my most recent trip. Everything changed for the worst, those cubical beds were gone. Now they charge $35 to sleep in a big room with uncomfortable beds all laid out side-by-side next to complete strangers. I felt like I was paying money to sleep in a homeless shelter. The rooms where we were supposed to have for activities use had people sleeping in them because they hated the beds. When I complained to the man at the counter that this wasn’t what I remembered, who spoke poor English & was difficult to communicate with, he showed me a private room that was better but the size of a broom closet. This one was $75 with a $20 deposit, the bed was very uncomfortable & I had problems going to sleep as there was so much noise coming from the lobby & this ridiculous window on the door letting the hallway light in (had a prison cell feeling). There was also someone’s cloths in the closet & the drawers on the bed frame was filthy. WORST OF ALL I SUFFERED 7 BED BUG BITES and a few followed me home so I got 3 more. I should have just booked a cheap hotel. I guess...
Read moreI came here because I had heard good things about this place. I walked in, first time, greeted the lady at the front desk pleasantly, and got no response. The look her on face was as if I had dirt all over me, she just said, 20.00...I gave her my debit card with my PICTURE ON IT, she still asked me for my i.d. I smiled and told her, my pic was on the card, looked at my card, then looked at me again. I swear to look she gave afterwards was so degrading and disgusting. She then made a copy of my debit card...🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️... I opened my locker only to find dirty clothes, cups of water. I told her about it. She had it cleaned but afterwards, no apologies whatsoever, no informations as to where to go, especially for a first timer, NOTHING!...😫😫Her attitude just me feel not welcome, but she took my money however....I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! Customer service is very big with me. The world is choatic as it is, and to come here and be treated as if I was scum, really digs at me....
