A failed hotel project this apartment is literally located in the heart of skid row, you are surrounded by all the homeless people on daily in and out of the building at all times, extremely sketchy and unsafe. Once in a while you encounter homeless people roaming inside the building claiming that they know some resident. Security staff don’t really care much.
AREA Sirens and police’s activities around the building at all times, you are in the heart of action, don’t expect to find any peace here. All the late night yelling, fire, fireworks, trash and ran over rats, you get it all.
NEIGHBORS half of your neighbors will look like they are either from the section 8 or a bunch of underage kids that just cram into a single unit. People seem to get evicted all the time here. You know why.
MANAGEMENT Non existent on the weekend. If something happens you are on your own, no one will help you. Security guy downstairs don’t know anything.
ELEVATOR!!!!!! Broke down way too many times!!!!! If you are on the top floor you are pretty much screwed. There’s only one elevator and the freight elevator doesn’t even work when the front elevator broke down. You have no choice but to carry your groceries, bike or whatever up all the stairs!!!! Last time it was out for days!!!!!!! Imagine running late to work because of unexpected elevator outages that happens all the time!!!! How come there is ZERO COMMUNICATION from the management? No email no nothing, just leave all the residents hanging because they DO NOT CARE! As of the time of writing this review the elevator is already down for three days!!! If you don’t have a car you are trapped in this building because it’s so unsafe to just walk outside of the building.
The only nice thing about this building is the...
Read moreWe lived here for a year and only moved out recently because we wanted to be closer to the downtown night life. The apartments are spacious, there’s lots of natural lighting and the new management team (Jonathan/Asher) and the amazing security team (led by Abel) are always available and willing to go above and beyond.
I see other reviews talking about issues regarding noise, cleanliness and bugs but I did not have the same experience. We sprayed our apartment before moving in as we do every time we move and we never had any issues with bugs. Also, noise has to be expected in every major city, especially downtown LA. As far as cleanliness, I personally witnessed the floors on all 6 levels being mopped regularly and all common areas were clean (no smells, no trash in hallways, no spills). If any issues arise, management is quick to offer solutions.
We had a corner apartment and I don’t think we’ll ever find the square footage and the view for that price ever again, but we would definitely consider living here again...
Read moreAlready missing the views and vibes :) I lived here for a little over 2 years and absolutely loved it. The view in my apartment was spectacular - honestly people were in shock when they walked through the door lol. Huge 2 bedroom apartment for a pretty good price. Kri is absolutely the best building manager you could hope for, immediately solves any issue that comes up. And Abel is a total fixture in the community. Very friendly, kind, funny and helpful. Got to know people in the neighborhood after 2 years and always got a friendly good morning when i walked out the door. You're super close to the Arts District and could easily get by without having a car. I did for half the time i lived there and it wasn't a problem. I'll miss the energy of the building for sure. The only reason i moved was to get away from the dtla vibe. After years in nyc and downtown i was looking for something a little more peaceful, but if you're looking for a gorgeous space with great management in the downtown area, this is...
