I never been to your church but I hope I attended one day with my kids.
Hello my name is Erica Sutton I am a mother of three kids. I attend Cerritos College online. I live in the Salvation Army on Whitter it really been kind of hard for me and my kids. We have been homeless for seven months no help with a housing voucher for me and my kids can our own place and not have to share with people here. There alot of noise and slamming doors here. I want to have a nervous breakdown. Cause I have kids that are depending on me.Nobody didn't tell me it was going to be rough nobody didn't tell there will be days I fell like giving there be days you don't want to talk there be days people will stop u from reaching your goals and dreams. I have ask caseworkers and case managers for section vouchers some told they do have it and some told me they they don't have it. The shelter is just a temporary situation for me and my kids it not permanent. I want more in my life and my kids s deserve more to we just can't settle her. We just can't stop her because caseworkers or case managers don't want to help us we just can't. Yes we are through depression but we have to push through this rough time in our life. Peolle would try to stop u or make u go in insane or fall off of course because they are not achieving there goals in life. They are just clowns they don't want nothing better for themselves or for anybody els so they try to distracted you and get u off of course and atrat having you yelling and being angry. That is not part of God or his plan. We just have to beathe and keep praying and keep moving something is going to change something is going to happen. I just to belive it and walk in it...
Read moreI've been going to New City for almost a year now and LOVE IT! It is the most racially diverse and economically diverse church I have been to. The first time I went I was immediately noticed and welcomed warmly...It's not like other churches where you walk in and no one talks to you except for a good morning from the person handing you the bulletin. I was not only greeted but welcomed immediately. From the very first day, I loved Kevin's message of grace. He captures the heart of the Bible; God's heart for people. He doesn't bog down his messages with rules and regulations and religiosity, but teaches from the Bible, God's love, truth and all consuming grace. When I hear one of Kevin's messages I learn more about the historical time period each verse is coming from and I learn more and more about the heart of God. Not only does it help me in my walk today, but also teaches me more about the origins of the Bible. Not may pastors can do both as Kevin does. Jonathan, the associate pastor, is also a wonderful speaker and is an exceptional leader in the church. Being apart of a grow and serve group is what really cemented my connection and love for the church. That's where I created and foster lasting friendships with people that have become like family to me. We get deep in the word and in each others lives and it's powerful. All groups also have a serve portion where we reach out, volunteer and serve our community. New City has forever changed my life and I feel incredibly blessed to be apart of such an incredible, loving, open, innovative, diverse, cutting edge, non religious, Bible based, community...
Read moreI, being an alcoholic, started going to this church about two years ago. I was struggling with alcoholism and other addictive behaviors. When I started going to New City Church of LA I received nothing but love and acceptance of who I was. Through the last two years the love of God through the many people ans staff of New City have helped me with many problems that were the root of my addictions. While I am not 100% whole I am learning that this is ok and am being loved on this path towards God as I learn how to let go of the things that hinder me and in a spiritual since I am linked arm in arm with many brothers and sisters of all social, economical and racial statuses that believe the same way of that we are all broken and we all need each other to make this journey of Christianity/discipleship to go deeper into a relationship with God and each other! Come and experience true freedom in grace and learn how to have a more intimate relationship with the Triune God who created us all and died for every single...
