Update: let's see what their response is. Take pages to talk about their tight schedule.
I have to repeat my point again as I said at the end of my original comment: Things happen, admit it, say sorry, and make compensation if you can. That's it. Do not try to find others' problems, ask customers to prove they made the right appointment, and just say we cannot do anything without even a sorry. I hope you enjoy the same arrogant front desk attitude in your life.
I said, "That's not my problem," because your staff acted as if it were.
You are not really sorry. Everyone can tell it. TL;DR: Terrible scheduling, no accountability, and rude customer serviceāafter years as a customer, I wonāt be returning. I am very disappointed with my recent experience at Theodora Hair Studio Olympic.
We made our appointment two weeks in advance for 4:45pm, but then got a random text saying our appointment was at 6pm. I called the salon in the morning to double-checkāthey said 4:45pm was correct, so we planned our day around that.
But right before the appointment, while we were already on our way, they called and asked if we could come after 5:10pm instead. I explained that I needed to leave before 6:15pm, but the staff were completely dismissive, saying, "We're busy and canāt make your appointment. You can come after 5pm, but itās at your own risk."
Honestly, this just highlights how useless their appointment system isāthereās no point making a booking if they change the time at the last minute and refuse to take responsibility.
What upset me most was their attitude and lack of ownership. They even asked me to send a screenshot of my chat history proving I booked for 4:45pmāwhich I did, but it made no difference. No apology, no attempt to properly resolve the issueājust "We're busy, come at your own risk."
And hereās the fun part: after all this, since I didnāt go to the salon, I never heard from them again. Not a single follow-up call or message to check why I missed my appointment or to try to reschedule. Clearly, once youāre inconvenient for them, they just stop caring completely.
Iāve been a loyal customer for over a year, and had my hair cut by Hazel for more than three years, and I recommended a lot of my friends to come, but this experience really shows they donāt value their loyal customers. Things happenālike when Hazel once cancelled due to illness, which I completely understoodābut at least be honest, acknowledge mistakes, apologize, or try to make up for it. Instead, it felt like they were blaming me for the mess and acting like appointments donāt matter at all.
Everyone is busy; thatās life. But thatās not an excuse for poor service or total disrespect for your customersā time. Sadly, after this experience, I wonāt be coming back. Of course, none of my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate here: I contacted the hair salon regarding my disappointment. They let me do a fix without charge. This time, they paid much more attention and listened to my needs with a lot more attention. Senior stylists consulted with me at first. And they re-did my color and the balayage design. And this time it looks much more natural and nice. āā previous review āā I did a balayage with Hazel and it was extremely disappointing. I was charged for over $700 before tips. The color is directly from a color book and the balayage is poorly designed. The balayage in online pictures had lots of subtlety between every little thread of hair but the one I got is big chunks of same color without much variations. Plus, Hazel served multiple customers at the same time leading me to feel that I didnāt get much attention in both haircut and color design. The haircut is a standard cut that she didnāt really take into consideration of my look. When I told her that I want an air fringe bang by showing her picture. She was having a time understanding it even when I showed her pictures. Moreover, her assistant took so long to do part of the bleaching and it seems there were parts that she missed and got redone (they spoke Koeran; I am not entirely sure). And it took about 7 hours while at the beginning she told me it would be like 4 to 5 hours. With this amount of time and the poor design and color, I think the balayage is way overpriced. Especially I see in other salons, the prices are several hundred cheaper with similar or better results from online. I came here because good reviews about Hazel but I was extremely disappointed. I donāt think the balayage worth even half...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter spending a few years in Seoul and experiencing top-notch hair salons, I was worried I wouldnāt find the same quality when I returned to LA. Luckily, I found Youna, who came highly recommended by a top stylist in Seoulāand I havenāt looked back since. For almost two years now, Iāve been going to Youna, and she has been nothing short of incredible.
Youna is more than just a talented hair stylist. Sheās friendly, sincere, funny, and wonderfully down-to-earth. She genuinely takes the time to understand your individuality and designs your hairstyle to highlight what makes you special. Over the years, Iāve tried a few different styles with her, and each time, she has exceeded my expectations. My wife also started seeing Youna after my recommendation, and sheās just as happy with her experience.
The service is exceptional, truly a five-star, luxury-level experience. Youna and her assistant, Da Yeong, make every visit feel special. Da Yeong is amazing in her own right, providing thoughtful and attentive assistance throughout the process. Together, they create an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality that you rarely find elsewhere.
The salon itself is fantasticāfree parking, great vibes, excellent music, and a friendly, professional staff. If youāre looking for a top-tier hair designer in LA (or beyond!), I canāt recommend Youna enough. Iām very particular about my hair, and she has consistently gone above and beyond to meet my expectations. My wife is very picky too. Prior to Youna, she only cut her hair in Seoul.
Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Youna. You...
