Ooyoo Cafe — Restaurant in Los Angeles

For the longest time, I always thought that Oakobing was the go-to place when it comes to finding good Bingsu (Korean shaved ice dessert) in KTown, but there certainly was a paradigm shift after trying this place out!

Ooyoo is a solid contender for the spot of best bingsu purveyor in KTown, the place is a bit difficult to find but well worth it once you manage to get to it. The seating itself is such a nice touch. There are big booth-like, semi round couches outside with what looks like a fireplace in the middle, so perfect for large groups.

My favorite was the strawberry bingsu, but the other two flavors that we tried were very (injeolmi and black sesame) were also highly recommended. They also sell Ah-Boong, a fish-shaped waffle cone filled with your choice of filling. We went with the red bean paste, and it was great.

Been looking forward to checking this spot out for a while and I finally did but just to become disappointed. I ordered a bingsoo to dine in and enjoy with a friend and it took about 30-40 minutes to get it only to see that it was melting. It looked as if they had forgotten about my order and the bingsoo looked really sad. I posted the picture on how they gave it to me after my friend took a scoop of the strawberry. I honestly wouldn’t have minded the wait if the bingsoo was actually in good shape. Plus it was not crowded. As my friend and I were eating it we noticed another person was getting their bingsoo and theirs looked more presentable. Not sure if I am going to come back tbh. I really like the patio...

Get. The. Hotteok. Don't think about it, just order it!!

Came for the bingsoo, stayed for the hotteok. Both were good- I wish they told you all the red bean and condensed milk is hidden in the bottom of the bowl. Initially I thought it was just a really plain shaved ice until I got to the good stuff at the bottom! I also wish you could get injeolmi as an add-on to any bingsoo. But seriously, that hotteok may just be the most delicious hotteok I have ever eaten- and I literally grew up with my grandma making me hotteok so that's...
