I love My Virgo "Health Perm"!!!! I have thin, flat, stick straight hair that I've struggled with for my whole life. In the past, every time I tried to curl my hair, it would fall out after 30 minutes or so which is super frustrating . Virgo Salon was recommended to me by a coworker with very textured hair noting that they are great with transforming any natural texture into your desired wave or curl pattern using a healthy perm. With some apprehension, I gave it a shot and I'm SO glad that I did! I LOVE the results! My Hair looks completely natural - not stiff and wiry like one would expect from old-school perms. I now have the volume and texture I've been after and my hair feels healthier and softer than when I walked in. My hair was healthy and had lots of natural dimension and layers and the stylist was lazy and cut straight across the bottom leaving me with a blunt chop and split ends. The salon won't refund me and now I'm left to grow out unhealthy hair.

I sent in photos ahead of my appointment of what I was looking for and had received in the past from previous cuts and asked my stylist to take off as little as possible that would retain the health of my hair. She took less than 15 minutes to cut my hair and at the end of it asked me to check to see if I saw any more dead ends that she missed, which I thought was bizarre. I found a few dead pieces that she hadn’t noticed which she subsequently cut and then left. I get my hair cut regularly by Chelsea. After nearly a year of not being able to find a curly hairdresser after being burned by so many hairdressers in the past, a friend recommended going to Chelsea. When I say my first haircut was the best cut I have ever had, I mean it. I came in with nearly a year of growth and damaged ends but she was soooo nice about it and not at all judgy! She's now my regular girl and I tell everyone to go to Virgo. Parking is easy, the space itself is beautiful and quiet, and everyone I have met at the salon is very sweet. It is so hard to find a curl specialist that doesn't charge obscene prices. While the price may be higher than other cheaper places, I do think it is worth every dollar for the expertise and care.
