I was visiting my daughter in Hummelstown and ordered a couple of items from the Kohls store. I wasn't familiar with how to get my order. There were 3 employees talking near the pickup area. The one girl looked directly at me and did not acknowledge me at all. I finally asked the other girl if she could help. She asked what I needed, and I told her I needed to pick up a package. She immediately turned to the other girl and told her to help me, then walked away. I showed her a screenshot of the # and was told I had to be in the app and couldn't use the screenshot. I was so frustrated. I'm 77 years old and use a walker to get around. It is very difficult for me to stand or walk. She was no help either. I then found a gentleman who helped me, he was very nice and got my package for me. The lady, at the checkout who did my exchange for me, was so nice and helpful and very patient. If it wasn't for the last 2 people who helped me, I would have given 2 or 3 stars. I used to work for Kohls in my hometown, so I know CS is very important. I left the store, but on the way out, I saw an item I wanted. I used the self checkout. It is very easy to use especially for a 1st time user. I'm hoping our store back in Erie have the...
Read moreWent here Saturday. The carpet shampooers were in complete disarray and nobody knew any of the differences between the models. That, by itself, is not the end of the world. Next, I took a $399 shampooer up to the front and asked for help from a "Jim". Because I had to use Shark's website to figure out the model differences, I realized that they had the machine listed for $369 + a free steamer for hard wood floors. I really just wanted the discount, but Jim's manager said they don't do price matches (even on Shark's on website). This annoyed me, so we didn't take the shampooer, and moved to another register to pay cash for the remainder of our items. Apparently, Jim thought we left because I heard him loudly proclaim to his manager, "doesn't bother me any!" I still love my local Kohls in Reading so I won't give a 1 star review, but Jim needs a reminder not to disparage customers in the middle of self checkout. I bought our shampooer at Target on...
Read moreAn absolute mess. The whole store is incredibly disheveled, and the atmosphere just makes it a depressing place to be. I haven't been to a department store in years, and now I know why.
Despite the store being so huge, there's a very limited selection of certain items that you would expect more of. The men's wallets display (which was also a hot mess) had limited variation and selection, and the men's slippers section had six options, all of which were ugly, frumpy, granddad slippers in basically the same style and in varying shades of grey. Disappointing.
On the plus side(?), the clearance section over there was obnoxiously huge. There was some decent stuff to be found, and I came away with a cool new shirt for $14. The person at self-checkout was nice, and unlike at some other stores, you don't get pestered by employees every five minutes while trying to shop. Probably because they're...
