I hate to have to write this review but I think it's important to share. The people at the store are very nice, so this is NOT a review about them. Rather it's a review about their customer service and their willingness to stand by their products. I realize this is discount furniture so I know the expectation is not high, but I have purchased from Bob's stores since 2011 and have been pleased. Until today. We moved to PA and bought a large sofa, 2 chairs, a chase and 2 ottomans between December 2023 and January 2024. We have had the ottomans since mid-January and one of them broke. They sent their technician to come assess it and he had to "fix" it yet said there was nothing wrong. But as soon as you apply pressure on the edge of the ottoman the stuffing moves and it has to be "fixed" again. Fixed by unzipping the bottom and putting the stuffing back in place. The furniture is broken, plain and simple. We have only had it a few months and they refuse to replace it. I am therefore planning to notify everyone I know about this. I have spent thousands of dollars at Bob's. I am a good customer, I have paid outright for these items, but they are a horrible company. We have not misused this furniture, we simply want to put our feet up without the inside stuffing dropping and needed to be repositioned. At the very least, they should replace a defective item. I plan on notifying the corporate office to let them know that furniture that is only 3 months old and not misused should not require unzipping and replacing stuffing when used. A loyal customer since 2011 deserves more than this. Save yourself aggravation. Save up some of your dollars and take your business to Ashley, or Raymour and Flanagan in Mechanicsburg PA or Lazy Boy in the same parking lot as Bob's in Harrisburg, PA. Yes, they are all more expensive but well worth it.
12/18/2024 UPDATE: Writing an update to this post. They did contact me right away once I reached out to them. I had to explain to them the situation and they proceeded to explain to me that ottoman was not meant to be sat on rather for a foot rest. Part of me questions that but I let that go because I was rather concerned and wondered why did they think I sat on the ottoman? When I asked, they said the service technician wrote that in his report. This angered me and I took the time to explain to their representative how I actually use it. It is used at the side of my bed so that my little 4 pound pup can hop up onto the bed (as well as my other little dog, 15 pounds). And since both my pups sleep in bed with us, most of the time I am pushed off or my feet hang off. Hence, I rest my feet on the ottoman.
Perhaps the technician was confused since my husband brought the ottoman out into the hallway so he didn't have to walk through the house and into the bedroom. Or perhaps because English wasn't his first language, honestly, I don't know. In the end, they sent a replacement as a "one time courtesy." A replacement was the right thing to do, but as a one time... This situation just left a bad feeling. It will likely be some time before I purchase from Bob's again if at all. I do hope this...
Read moreAfter living with my fiancée’s hand-me-down furniture (LOL) we decided to go look at a new living room set. Not ever being in a Bobs before I wasn’t sure what to expect … other than to be ready to tell ten salespeople “I’m fine we are JUST looking”. My biggest pet peeve is to be hounded while I shop, like anyone.. and I know that most hate bugging people but they have simple because their job REQUIRES it. WELL I WAS SHOCKED. We entered and an older gentleman energetically greeted us, I believe if memory serves me correct he said his name was Marty. (?) He asked the usual, I just said we were only looking today.. but there was one I saw online. He showed us where it was and showed us other options as well, mentioned that he’d be floating around in that area but if we had any questions he’d be right there!
Marty was very knowledgeable, probably the MOST friendliest sales person I’ve ever encountered honestly and it was genuine. I mentioned we were looking around but weren’t buying today.. he literally said “hey that’s cool!” When most places in town would then ask me why and then next thing you know it’s 20mins later and you feel like your pressured into buying from them or they arnt so friendly when they know they arnt gonna get a sale from you that day. WELL NOT AT BOBS! THEY KNOW THEIR PRICES ARE THE BEST AND THEY DONT PRESSURE!
My fiance and I both have horrible credit, so we planned to just buy the set we’re looking at flat out, but Marty wanted to also tell us about the different payment options as well. We both mentioned that we have horrible credit but they said we can see what we can help you with that way you got options to chew on. My fiance he could get up to $3500 I haven’t had them do mine yet but plan to when we go back in for our living room set.
They have also where you can see how much everything is together in a set or by itself.. manual functions or powered All on the back of cards by the furniture. That way you know upfront what the price of something is. Which I love!
Marty was awesome to speak with! And I hope he’s there when we go back in to talk about bringing our new furniture home!
I price point EVERYTHING. If I can find it cheaper elsewhere I’ll get. But I also go with the old saying “ya get what ya pay for” - I’ve had friends and seen reviews say that Bobs has nice stuff and I’ve sat on and felt and seen their products and it is just as good as Kittles, Ashley or any other place that is extremely over priced. Plus they have their white glove delivery if you choose to do so. There’s just so many different options to suit everyone which I appreciate and love!
I really hope someone from Bobs furniture sees this and gives a big shoutout to Marty at the Ft Wayne, IN location He was...
Read moreEveryone in the store was nice and the gentleman that helped us order our couch was very nice and helpful. Getting the couch is a terrible experience. We scheduled delivery for Saturday and for 4 days I received text messages and emails confirming Saturday delivery. Saturday morning I received a phone call that the truck was having mechanical issues and the time would be delayed. I thanked them for the update. A little bit later I confirmed with someone in the chat that the truck was on the way for delivery. After waiting I spoke with another person on the chat (who was very rude) and told me that the truck was stuck in an accident and was delayed but couldn’t provide any time update. I then called the customer service and was told the truck would be delayed but I would get delivery that day. I then reached out to the gentleman who helped me purchase the couch and he said his manager told him there was an issue and I should have gotten a call from customer service because they were canceling the delivery and rescheduling it. I then called customer service and they told me it would be delivered and it’s just delayed. An hour later I get a call saying the delivery was being cancelled and they were rescheduling it. This was an hour after the delivery time I was told. When I asked if the delivery fee was being waived I was told no. I asked if there was a supervisor I could speak to and when I was placed on hold, I was hung up on. I was told someone from customer service would call me to give me a new time for my delivery tomorrow and have waited a few hours and still haven’t heard from them. This has been such a headache. It’s one thing if something happens and the delivery is late, that’s no problem, but very clearly Bob’s has a very poor system for updating their customers. Prior to this I liked Bob’s but now I am seriously considering if I ever...
