This rating is not on the products or the quality there of. This raiting is on the staff of the Harrisburg location. If I was able to rate less than one star I would have done so. I was there this evening and as I was walking up to the entrance of the store I heard a crash of glass breaking and there was a very upset old man coming out of the building. I ran to him. He had a cane and at the same time was trying to push his cart and walk. He had purchased a very large picture frame, for $80.00, And he put it across the top of the cart. Assuming because the carts are smaller here and it would not fit. While he was struggling to walk with his cane, maneuver a cart, and balance this frame, he bumped the door on the way out which sent the frame, with glass, crashing to the ground. He looked up at me with embarrassment, fear, and shame. I quickly went to him and assured this happens and it's ok. I told him to wait inside the doors, it was 25 degrees outside, and that I would clean it up. You would not believe it if I told you how many customers stepped over the mess walking past him and I. Now I'm so mad. He was so worried and wasn't sure what to do. I told him I will clean this up, so no one gets hurt and we will go get him a new frame. The staff was less than friendly when I explained his situation and the manager even more so. She seemed bothered by the incident and even more bothered when I requested that we were going to go get him a new frame at no cost. I left him at the front of the store and I searched the frames for his replacement. I carried it back up to the cash registers for him and to no surprise the manager was no where to be found. I asked him if we were good to go, meaning she was ok with the replacement. He wasnt sure because she said nothing and disappeared. We left with the frame I carried it as slow as he needed to walk and put it in his car. He said to me someone is in the Christmas spirit. And God bless you. I assured him, it's not just Christmas spirit, its empathy, sympathy, kindness, and humanity. The staff there is horrible!!!! How can any one of those people watch and check out a feeble old man, with a cane, and with an awkward purchase, struggle his way out the door without offering to help. Shame on you!!!!!! I will not say I won't shop Michael's ever again, but I will say I will not shop Michael's Colonial Commons ever again!!!!!

Read moreI ordered balloons a few days prior for pick up for a balloon release for the passing of my son. When I got to the store to pick them up the young lady at the register apologized that they were not ready and called Cody for assistance with filling my order. While I was of a phone call and Cody was halfway through filling the balloons he says to me that this is his last time filling balloons for me for a balloon release. He stated it is illegal in PA to do releases because it leaves trash on the streets. I ended my phone and he reiterated what he had said. I pointed to my shirt that read in loving memory of my son resting in heaven. I further stated that he was rude and disrespectful and his conversation shouldn't be with me, as I am not aware of the stores policy on balloon releases, but instead with the employee who took my order days prior. I was embarrassed as other customers witnessed this, but also given the circumstances surrounding the balloon purchase, Cody displayed no compassion, completely cold and heartless. I left the store feeling more overwhelmed than I did when I entered the store. Cody needs to take a customer relations course, especially if he continues to work with people. Wish I could have given a...
