John's Pass Village & Boardwalk — Local services in Madeira Beach

Fact (or myth): John’s Pass, which was created by a hurricane in 1848, got its name from pirate John Leveque, who discovered the pass and was the first to sail through it. it was a historic fishing village turned into a shopper's paradise.

John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk is a top St. Pete/Clearwater attraction with more than 100 shops, restaurants, and water-related businesses. when I was strolling out there, it has a handful of watersports companies specializing in boat rentals, parasailing excursions, deep-sea fishing charters, and more. in fact, I saw dolphins a couple of times. The Royal Conquest, a pirate ship that sails out of John's Pass, runs daily cruises designed for families.

It is a great spot for family fun. It also has plenty of fun options for lunch or dinner. great ambiance, nice scenery, and great company - lovely. Chain restaurants like bubba gump shrimp, hooters are there too.

I did not get a chance to spend the evening here, but I am pretty sure it would be magical.

Shopping: it is lined with nearly 20+ unique specialty shops. If you're looking to take home a souvenir for a loved one – or yourself – head just a block away to this shopping area. Handmade items are quite popular here. Find fine jewelry inspired by the coast at Landing Company, or take home an authentic Cuban cigar from Cuban Paradise Cigar and Cafe

Parking: Onsite parking is available. Unlike Sarasota, Bradenton beach- parking is not free here in St Petersburg, it’s $3/hour. make sure when you are in the St Pete beach area, you don't do back-in parking. The back number plate should be visible to the sheriff/police....

John’s Pass and Boardwalk has been one of my favorite places to visit ever since I was little, and no matter how many times I come back, it’s still just as fun. The beautiful waterfront views, the lively atmosphere, and the variety of touristy shops make it such a great spot to explore. Whether you’re looking for souvenirs, unique gifts, or beach gear, there’s always something interesting to browse. The restaurants and bars along the boardwalk offer great seafood and drinks, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins playing in the water while you eat.

One downside is that parking can be a bit tricky, especially during peak hours. The lots fill up quickly, so getting there early or being patient while looking for a spot is definitely a good idea. Also, watch out for the birds—there are plenty of them around, which is great for bird watchers but not so great if you end up in the wrong spot at the wrong time!

That said, it’s a fantastic place to watch boats come and go, and there are plenty of sightseeing tours if you want to get out on the water. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or have been coming for years like me, John’s Pass is always...

This is is a place that every one of my guests MUST visit. They've enjoyed everything from Jet Skiis, to parasailing, pirate adventures, dolphin watching, guided deep sea fishing, and boat rentals. On the otherside of the boardwalk is tourist galore. They have dozens of shops with lots of AC to cool off in, and lots of souvenirs to be had. A great place for souvenirs is all the way at the end of the strip (left if youre in the parking lot). Everything in there is 10$ or less and they have beautiful jewelery and accessories. There is ice cream shops, fudge, saltwater taffy, surfshops, and so much more. There really is no shortage of things to do at John's Pass. When the evening comes, walk 5min across the street and you're on a beach watching the sunset. So, you see why this is a must for visitors!

TIP: Parking is Awful on weekends after 9 or 10am. It's worth it to use the parking structure near Hooters and Bubba Gump's. Just pay the flat 20$ for the day. Your car is out of the sun and you don't have to fight for a spot and worry about the meter...
