I live in Manteca and yesterday I went to this Chipotle which is literally just down the street from us. We love chipotle and we go at least once every 2 weeks or so, as I never had any problems with service and the food is always great. However, I cannot say the same after the service that I received yesterday. My family and I were working all day and around 5:30pm finally got a chance to grab something to eat. Like stated earlier, we live a block away from Chipotle so decided to get three vegetarian salads to go. I got there and ordered the three salads. I also requested salad dressing and salsa for each of them, which the lady was fine with and half filled 3 containers with salad dressing and salsa. Then before she checked out my order, I also told the lady that I wanted to buy 2 bags of tortilla chips and pointed out what salsa I wanted with each bag of chips. At that point she told me it would cost extra for the salsa. When I tried to explain to her that I was asking for the salsas that go with the chips, she pointed to the salsa that she has given me with the salad. I asked her doesn’t the chips come with a container of salsa each? And obviously she didn't have a problem giving me the salsa earlier with the salad. She didn't know at that point that I was also getting 2 bags of chips. So it doesn't make sense that she points at the salsa for the chips. I don't understand what I would be eating the chips with if it doesn't come with the salsa. Am I supposed to eat the chips alone? Even on the Chipotle website on the menu, under the “sides” section, it says chips + guac or chips and salsa. So obviously, salsa is included with the purchase of the chips. However, she refused to listen to me or even understand what I was trying to say. All she could do was repeat that there is an additional charge for the salsa. If that is true then why have I always gotten a container of salsa with each order of chips? This really ruined my mood and my experience with Chipotle to the point that I will not be returning again to waste my money and more importantly, to be humiliated. For just 2 extra containers of salsa, which maybe costs $1.00 each, they lost my order of at least $25-$30 and any future business of mine or my family’s, as I just left after the lady refused to understand what I was trying to explain to her. And honestly there is Chipotle is the only fast food chain that I know that charges for their salsa. Taco bell, Del Taco, Green Burrito, etc do not charge for their sauce. If I wanted I could have just gone to a Mexican restaurant even and just had unlimited chips and salsa which is complementary, instead of having to pay extra for 2 half filled containers of salsa which should have already been included in the order of chips. I know that all fast food chains are different and this is the way that chipotle does it, which is fine. However I just don’t understand why I don’t get a container of sauce with my order of chips when it has always been the case and it is clearly advertised this way on the website? I know, this is ridiculous that I am fighting for just having to pay maybe $2 to $3 extra for 2 containers of salsa, but paying additional money for the salsa container should already be included is not getting my money’s worth. And more importantly, the manner in which the employee was talking to me and not giving me proper service is also ridiculous. I definitely won’t be a loyal costumer anymore for Chipotle. In and Out Burger is in the same complex. Why not save my money, as In and Out’s menu is much cheaper than Chipotle, but also this way at least I won’t be humiliated at In and Out. They care about customer service and please their customers. If I pay for something there, I know that I am receiving my money’s worth. They don’t false advertise. With Chipotle, obviously there is no guarantee or...
Read moreMy business partner and I visited your store in Manteca, CA for lunch, but unfortunately, we experienced bad customer service and were treated unfairly. One of the servers was in a hurry gave us an attitude and did not give us enough time to pick our food, which made me feel uncomfortable. I decided to pay for my food and spoke to a gentleman who seemed to be management. I referred to the server as "He," but the gentleman corrected me and said "Not a He". So, I apologized and said "She" instead, but the gentleman interrupted me and said "Not She" sir. I requested the correct pronoun, but I didn't receive a response, and the staff started showing hostility against us and decided to kick us out of the restaurant. I just wanted to have a quiet meal and was confronted with this situation that made me uncomfortable.
I want to make it clear that I respect individuals' specific genders. However, if someone's gender is unknown to me and they don't tell me what gender to use, I don't think it's right to treat me unfairly, with bad customer service or hostility. Even after I expressed my concern about the bad customer service, the server started yelling at me to "just leave," and the gentleman did the same. A pregnant woman came out from the back and instead of asking me what happened, she just started replying to me to leave because I was holding the line.
They didn't address my issue and instead focused on my incorrect use of pronouns. Even though I was respectful and admitted to not knowing the correct pronouns, they still kicked us out without addressing the...
Read moreFood was ok. Rice was undercooked and hard and employees need to be consistent with their servings as the girl that was helping me was putting in half a spoonful of all the food so my salad bowl looked like it was half the size they should be. I asked for them to add more and was told they would charge me extra (when again, the spoonfuls she was serging were NOT but half the servings). I asked for a lot of lettuce and was given a handful. Between the servers that day, they kept mixing up people's orders around and giving others someone else's food. I had gone back up after we sat down because they had not put lettuce in one of my bowls (even tho we asked for it) and waited and waited because the customer's bowls were being switched around and the customer's were asking to open their bowls up. Both the server and the cashier looked annoyed at each other and the requests....the cashier was annoyed at the server because there were to many mistakes being made so they switched her out and the guy that was put there was serving everyone what looked to be moutains of food (you couldn't even close their bowls!). That's the guy I should have gotten from the beginning! He would have made our $50...
