After a month and a half of traveling the western U.S. and visiting (not nearly enough) dispensaries, I have come to some fundamental conclusions about what I enjoy most in a dispensary. As my reviewing format evolves, I'll try to include some consistent observations about the dispensaries I attend, as well as offering caveats where my personal biases most definitely come into play.
â˘Â Welcome / Engagement: the greeting through the door, and the interaction with/engagement of one's budtender/cannasultant/cannasseur - this can make or break an experience. Are they making eye contact? Is their tone friendly or distant? Are they engaged with their customers or simply going through the motions? Are they listening to the customer's questions, or are they just going through the motions?
The W/E of OCC is excellent, 5 stars - attentive, responsive to discussion, and happy to go into as much detail as is available on any particular product. Great attention to client interest and experience.
â˘Â Presentation: product set-up, including lighting, atmosphere, and shopping experience. There are two 'shop' versions, which I call "The Store" & "The Apothecary", respectively. The Store - brightly light, things organized on shelves, very sterile and professional in appearance. Lots of shiny surfaces and bright lights. The Apothecary (the one I'm partial to) - lots of wood, deeper colors, and even a lower-feeling ceiling gives this side a more... Return of the Jedi kind of feel, maybe? Anyway, this side is hanging things and wooden bowls and soft colors - very 'forest calm'.
The Presentation of OCC is very strong, 5 stars (+1 for dog friendliness would take this to 6 stars): dual appeal for shopping needs, also a gentle way of creating two distinct lines. Large mason jars for product disbursement, which is my preference whenever possible. đ¤âŻď¸đ
â˘Â Pricing/Menu - cost for product, and how helpful is the store's menu? Also includes variety of selection.
The Pricing/Menu for OCC is very good, 4 stars - solid selection, great labeling to help distinguish between CBD/Indica/Sativa/Hybrid, and a very clear pricing structure (no surprises at check-out time). The costs are comparable rates for other dispensaries in the area.
â˘Â Product - effectiveness and recommendations
The products I tried included flower and prerolls, and there was plenty of effect in the effectiveness part of things. The recommendations worked well for the desired intentions, and I found the advised products very satisfactory.
Next time I'm up that way, I intend to return. Also, if I'm remembering the dog's name properly, Sativa is a delightful snuggle animal for those in need of...
Read moreI came in tonight on a whim after watching the sun start to set with my sweet pooch in tow. I stopped in before I headed out & I had a great experience.
The shop had a nice ambience to it. It was unique. There were beautiful, well kept plants in one portion of the store and I learned that all of the cool woodwork that is within the store is all locally sourced as well, which I thought was pretty cool.
I learned this from Jess, who took care of me tonight. She was really laid-back, professional and helpful. Anyone would love her vibe honestly, hold onto her!
Thank you for taking great care of your customers. Thank you for being kind. Thank you for reading and...
Read moreVery very impressed with the cannabis I bought here, esp the zweet inzanity , a strain that I've since had back in Las Vegas. Anyway I smoked over 25 different strains of flower in the week and a half I was in Oregon and their herb was in the top three. Seems to be mainly organic cultivators which is always great. Pretty terpy at around 3.5% total terps. Definitely look forward to dropping in here on my next visit. Lovely cannabis for a absolutely lovely area. Magical little place on the beach. Would recommend this to anyone looking to be stunned be the sheer beauty...
