While visiting Manzanita this weekend, my husband and I decided to walk down to Yolk for breakfast this morning on the advice of a friend back home. First impression - it was absolutely PACKED with plenty more people standing around outside. There wasn’t someone waiting to greet us at the hostess stand, just a list where you could write down your name, phone number and how many people were in your group to get on the waitlist. We saw that we were #10 on the list and frankly almost gave up right there, but the food smelled heavenly, and it was a nice day out with plenty of cute little shops to walk around in while we waited, so we decided to go ahead and give it a shot. And man oh man, are we ever glad that we did… It may have taken us close to an hour to get a table, but I would have gladly waited two. This food is out of this world!!! I mean, not just really tasty breakfast good. I’m talking next level, top of the line, world class chef kind of amazing. Every dish that we had was not only artfully arranged with great presentation, but they were so flavorful that every bite just exploded in your mouth. Words just can’t adequately describe it. My favorite was the Huevos Rancheros which is one of my favorite breakfast dishes anyways, but this was hands-down the best version I have ever tasted… by a landslide. And by all means, if you decide to try it too, you should definitely add on the chorizo. It’s “eyes rolling back in your head” kind of good. The shrimp and grits were a respectable runner up, with perfectly prepared grits which is not an easy task, and trust me, this Southern girl knows what proper grits taste like. ;) Overall, I just cannot say enough good things about the food at Yolk. In fact, we loved it so much that we’re planning on going back again tomorrow morning too. Just go in prepared that there’s likely going to be a wait, and you’ll be just fine. But trust me, it is SO worth it. Just go ahead and put your name on the list. You won’t regret it, I promise.

Yolk in Manzanita has that rare kind of magic where everything just feels right the moment you walk in. The windows throw soft light across reclaimed wood and brushed metal, and the whole place hums like a well-kept secret. On this particular morning, the café was decked out with rainbows for Pride Month—flags, flowers, little flourishes in every corner—and it wasn’t just decoration. It felt joyful. Present. Like the place knew what month it was and leaned into the celebration with real sincerity. It added a quiet warmth to an already welcoming spot. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and I’ll say this: it was textbook perfect. Rich, velvety hollandaise, beautifully poached eggs, and a base that held up without getting soggy. Everything was balanced, thoughtfully plated, and genuinely satisfying. I paired it with their spicy Bloody Mary, which absolutely delivered—house-infused vodka, layered heat, not just spice for spice’s sake but depth and character. I could’ve sat there with that drink all day. Max went with the lemon ricotta pancakes, and I stole more than a few bites. Bright citrus cutting through the creamy batter, with a soft, pillowy texture that somehow still had structure. They tasted like someone had carefully thought them through, not just thrown them on a brunch menu because they sound fancy. That’s the thing about Yolk—nothing feels phoned in. The staff hit that rare sweet spot: relaxed but sharp, easy to talk to, clearly proud of the food they’re bringing to the table. You get the sense that the kitchen and the front-of-house are in sync. They’re not trying to be trendy; they’re just doing it right. Between the menu (loaded with things I still want to come back and try), the inclusive energy, and the consistently great food, Yolk easily earns its place as a must-stop on the coast. If there’s a wait, take a breath and hang out—it’s absolutely worth it.

Great space! The front of house owner was so sweet and lovely and accommodating! Drink menu and options are good price is on point, ambience is a little huh, its basically a Portland restaurant placed at the beach, tiny tables, simply plates and concrete everywhere, not the owners fault on the building being a bad build and terrible design but it does play into the atmosphere. Now I ate here 2 days in a row and the first day was great, my eggs Benedict were very tasty and the potatoes great! My partner had a dish with avocado, eggs, & bacon that was highly recommended, but the eggs were all brown and when we asked for a dish that wasn't burnt the serve said thats how it always comes and thats normal. Sorry but brown scrabbled eggs means that they are over cooked. Now having enjoyed my dish so much we came back a second day and I ordered the same and my partner ordered something else this time which was fine. But my eggs came back with translucent whites which kind of freaks me out. So I just asked my eggs be poached over medium like yesterday which was great! Now here is the issue, the woman in the kitchen made a loud comment about how we don't understand eggs and that she cooks how she cooks. I know staffing is hard, I understand restaurants have been put through the wringer lately but for a restaurant called Yolk, I would expect eggs to be cooked correctly or don't send them out. We will try again on our next trip to Manzanita, probably won't order eggs though.

Nestled in the heart of Manzanita, Oregon, Yolk is a breakfast haven that redefines culinary excellence and hospitality. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in an ambiance of warmth and joy, reflecting the love and passion that owners and staff pour into every aspect of this remarkable establishment.

To say that Yolk serves the best breakfast I've ever had is an understatement. Their French toast is a revelation, a heavenly creation that makes you question if you’ve ever truly known happiness before. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, with a perfect balance of crispiness and melt-in-your-mouth softness. It's an experience that lingers, making every other breakfast you've had pale in comparison.

But the magic of Yolk doesn't stop at the food. The amazing server Jasmine and the owners infuse every interaction with genuine fun and spirited warmth. Their dedication to their craft and community shines through in every smile and gesture. They go beyond serving food; they create moments of joy and connection, making every guest feel like part of their family.

The menu at Yolk is a testament to their culinary prowess, with every dish crafted to perfection. Whether it's the exquisitely seasoned scrambles, the fresh and vibrant bennies, or the richly brewed coffee, each offering is a masterpiece in its own right. The meticulous attention to detail and the use of fresh, local ingredients elevate the dining experience to new heights.

Yolk in Manzanita is not just a breakfast spot; it’s a sanctuary of bliss and community spirit. It’s a place where extraordinary food meets extraordinary people, and where every visit feels like a cherished memory in the making. If I could, I would give Yolk 50 out of 5 stars, for it is truly the epitome of...
