Kalani Jewelry & Gifts is a must visit when in Maui. If you’re in need of souvenirs, gifts for friends/family or handcrafted jewelry, Kalani is the one stop shop for all. I happened to stumble on this store when I was passing through the main square on my way to a coffee shop in the area and a nice t-shirt had caught my eye. I have to admit that I stopped with the intent of buying something just for myself as shopping for gifts isn’t my forte and I usually end up going with something very generic like a key chain or shot glass at the airport. However, the shop has a great collection of items that are all well organized and makes shopping easy. Aside from the huge collection of items, the real gems of this store are the owners. One of them was kind enough to ask if I needed any assistance when I was aimlessly looking around, and I was very honest in telling him that I had no idea what to buy and just looking for souvenirs in general. After hearing this, he took time to speak with me about each of the people I was shopping for and the types of things they like and then offered recommendations for each of them. He also explained how most, if not all, of their items are sourced locally from the island of Hawaii and they try their best to support the crafts of local artisans. I really appreciated that he took time to go over the interests of the people I was shopping for and offered excellent recommendations, it made the souvenir shopping process extremely easy for me. I ended up buying a candle that was hand poured right in Maui for my mom and local floral scent reed diffuser for my sister. Also got a great bracelet for myself and a handmade necklace for my girlfriend (all of which were loved by the people I gave them to, so excellent recommendations from the owner). This is a true local store that not only cares about their customers, but their community as well. Kalani’s has every gift and souvenir you’ll need for your friends and family! You can honestly spend hours here because there’s so much variety (especially the jewelry)! I was even able to find a souvenir for my dog! Despite the large selection, the store was also organized and you can notice each section was carefully curated by the owners. Also, the owners were super friendly, helpful and knowledgable about inventory and what’s trending as far as gifts for others go. Prices also seem to be good for the area! I was able to do all of my souvenir shopping here in one-go so that I could enjoy the rest of Maui for the duration of my trip. Depending on which side of the complex you come from, you may have to navigate through some stores to get there, but it has a clear sign so you can’t miss it. There’s also plenty of public parking lots and street parking all around....
