Establishments can have decent or great food, but if the customer service is terrible, why should I patronize? Here’s the story: I am waiting to be helped at the counter, but the young lady behind the counter has her back turned to me. So, I initially think, she’s not ready for me. I’ll be patient, let her package the orders fresh off the grill, and when turns around, she’ll interact with me face to face. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. Her back remained turned, she never greeted me, and then she asked me for my order. I gave her the order: Jumbo Chicken Gyro + Regular Philly Gyro (Chicken). She turned around and said “Okay, so you ordered what again?” Red flag: She didn’t give me her undivided attention so she couldn’t remember my order. I repeated my order. She hurriedly said the order, but she threw in two more gyros that didn’t ask for and said it was 50-something bucks. I said 50 bucks? and repeated the order politely. No biggy, right? She calls a cook to the counter and says, “Can you work this machine?” As the gentleman comes to register, she walks away and says, “I know what I heard?”…meaning, I, the customer, gave her the wrong order lol. I kept to myself as she bathed in her immature emotions, walking to the back of the building, I guess to blow off some steam. The cook comes to the register and asks me for my order. I give him the same order. He repeats the order and stated it incorrectly and said sorry for his mistake. Now, this is what I expected from the young lady, but her emotions got the best of her. Rather than saying, “Can you repeat your order? or I may have made a mistake, she chose to be angry. So as I’m giving him the order, she says, “I don’t know why you apologizing.” Red flag #2. I call my wife to tell her about the foolishness and perpetual cycle of “not so great” take out experiences. I received my food from the cook, the same gentleman who had taken my order, and left. I came back and gave him a tip for his service and professionalism. I, being the transparent person, confronted her. I spoke my peace respectfully, but she wasn’t trying to hear it and said there was nothing to talk about. I really hope she looks back on this, gains some wisdom, reflects, and tells herself, “I could’ve handled that situation better.” Maybe she had a bad day idk. But, people think this kind of behavior is acceptable, when in fact, it’s showing poor character and temperament. Someone who isn’t as patient as me probably would’ve dogged her out. We have to do...
Read moreWhat happened to this place??? I remember a time when this place took pride in what they do. I worked here back then and I saw it many years ago. Its been a while since I have been here and decided to go last night wigh my son and get some Gyros. We werent even greeted when we walked in and when I tried to say hello how are you doing to the woman begind the counter, all she said back was picking up or placing? She had abaolutely zero want to be there at all. We finally placed our order two gyros nothing to conplicated or special? Total was about 40 bucks. Plus a tip. So we stand back and let about 7 other people order and we watched every set of those people get their food and leave. About 40 minutes later, the cook looked pissed off and angry the counter girl was standing there doing nothing, and a nother guy was standing around talking to the cook. So Im like what the hell is going on here? I walk to the counter to ask about our food, she didnt even tell the cook about it! He was pissed off, threw the food together veey fast, and shoved it into thr boxes like he could care less and threw the box across the counter. I tried to be cool about it, and asked the girl of the owner was still in charge, she ignored me and handed me the bag. No apoligies or response at all. The place looked dirty, the workers were absolutely horribleat their jobs, no sense of organization, hygiene, respect to cuatomers or one another, and the food? Well ill tell you, the gyro meat was like leather, I was crunching and spitting out hard pieces of I dont know what...bones maybe? The lettuce was old and brown, the pita litterally swimming in a pool of grease i. The container and the saltiest taste I ever tasted, so gross. I have felt like complete crap since I ate it. Igot ripped off, treated like crap, and I got sick to my stomach. All I have to ask is...Why didnt this store shut down before it let it come to this??? Its an absolute disgrace and these people should be fired, replaced and clean the restaurant from top to bottom. I think the health department needs to pay this place a visit real soon. Steer clear of this place. Its best days are way...
Read moreI love this place. It's been there forever and the food is always excellent. Their corned beef is exceptional. Last night we ordered two gyros - a Cleveland Special Gyro with feta and grilled mushrooms and a Best Gyro with feta, both juniors because the junior is not as junior as you might think. The food was great, but I have two issues that I hope they will address. The first one is you are paying extra for the feta and yet they hardly put any on. Charge two dollars if it's cost prohibitive because the amount for the dollar they charged hardly covered the gyro. The second issue is heat and this is the second time I have had the food delivered. The first time was whatever delivery they use and the second time my roommate picked it up (we literally live around the corner) and both times the food was not even warm. Look there's a reason gyros are wrapped in foil and again perhaps it is cost prohibitive, but if the gyros we had gotten last night had been wrapped in foil they would have still been warm if not hot. I would think you'd want your food presented the best way possible especially when the food is as good as it is. Two minor issues, but ones I really hope are addressed.
Got a gyro and they forgot the Tzatziki sauce on the side which you'd think would be important. When I called the young woman who answered could have cared less. If you are going to put the sauce on the side then don't forget it and if you do forget it don't have an attitude when someone calls to complain. It's called...
