I am posting today about the horrible customer service experience I just had at K&G Fashion Superstore located in Golden Gate plaza (in Mayfield Hts OH). I took my dad there last week to purchase a suit for our cousin's funeral this Saturday. The suit needed alterations, so the tailor that was on duty marked the sleeves and the pants because they were too long. She wrote up a ticket and advised us to pay at the register. My dad paid for the suit along with a few accessories and the alterations and was told to come back in a week to pick up the tailored suit. We returned to the store today to pick up the suit and once he tried it on we realized that the sleeves were never shortened. We sought help from one of the floor associates and was informed that the alteration for the sleeves was omitted from the ticket and therefore we were not charged. So now we have to come back again to pick up the suit because the tailor forgot to alter the sleeves. My dad spoke with the tailor and showed her where she marked the sleeves. She apologized for her mistake and said it would be $18 to alter. My dad stated that he should receive a discount for the inconvenience. A manager named Donnell or Darnell (not quite sure which is correct) came to address the issue. He was extremely rude and aggressive. He informed my dad that "he is not the owner so he can't do anything about the price" and went on to say that "it is only $18". My father told the manager that he is now being inconvenienced and the manager told him "well you aren't getting anything for free". I asked for the number to the corporate office and Donnell told me "I mean I'm sure you can google it." Money is not an issue...my dad was not trying to get anything for free. My dad was becoming upset and he said "look sir, I have cancer and it is a struggle for me to.." and the manager waved him off and said "yeah I get that but we will not be doing any alterations for free". So I lost it. How dare this man just dismiss the fact that my father has cancer. I brought this to his attention and he said "I heard him..I am just letting him know we deal with all kinds of situations." Wow. No empathy...no sympathy...no ownership of the issue. The associate that originally was helping us named Willie Battle approached me at this time and told me that he did not want to inconvenience my dad and that he would bring the suit to my dad's home FREE OF CHARGE. This man went above and beyond and for that I am truly grateful. I will be writing their corporate office but I just wanted to take a moment to share my experience and give Mr. Willie Battle kudos for a job well done. The tailor agreed to take 50% off for the mistake and my dad will have his suit in time for the funeral....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought a 2 piece outfit on Thursday evening and when I got home I noticed the jacket had something on it. So I waited for the next day and went back to exchange it. The manager tells me she would not take it back. She accused me of wearing it. I told her I had not worn it but she wouldn't exchange it. At 60+ years old this doesn't make sense. I don't have a history of returns! And if I was going to buy, wear and return wouldn't i bring back the whole set and ask for a refund. Poor customer service and a lost customer.
Update: Just to let people know a little more background. Like I said I'm over 60yrs old. When I shop and buy 2pc outfits I try on the 1st and grab snd go on the rest. Same outfit different colors. I didnt notice the debri on a jacket while in the store. The manager accused me of wearing the jacket, I pleaded trying to assure her that the jacket had not been worn. She scalded me saying people do it all the time. My wife pleaded "Maam he didnt wear the jacket", she turned to her and scream out " Miss this none of your business"! Then she went on aboout how she wasnt going to lose her job over a $25.00 exchange. OK! I called customer service and wsited on hold long enough to drive home before being told I could return the Jacket. Return, yeah good Idea! I returned everything I bough and my wife returned everything that she had bought. Over $250.00 so do the math. I originally only wanted an exchange. Now becausde of the embarrassment I make sure to discourage anyone from shopping this store, there is no reason to shop in an establishment that treats customers as if everyone is on meth or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to the Mayfield location back in September 2021 for my sons homecoming. The service from the senior gentleman in suits was nothing short of exemplary! At the conclusion of the sale we were presented with $25 dollar off cards for use on future purchases. Now the bottom falls out of K&Gā¦.I returned a month later and selected some items and presented the discount card at check out. The clerk was a lady in her 20s and was backed up by a older lady who presented as a supervisor. The younger clerk was adamant that I pick a ācomplementaryā item that was free. I chose a shaver kit which retailed for $14.99.
After everything rang up, I noticed the charge and the clerk advised that āit will come off once the final total comes upā. I paid with my card and once the receipt printed I looked on it and the $14.99 for the shaver was still there with a slight discount, but still included in the overall total. I went back in the store and showed her and the supervisor. They were insistent that I was not charged for the shaver and that the charge I saw on the receipt really wasnāt there. I kid you notā¦. They literally wore me down and I had an epiphany, why am I going back and forth with two bitter broads over $14 dollarsā¦LOL. I gave up and left.
Just a note, if they ask you to pick a āfreeā gift when your using a couponā¦DO NOT DO ITā¦. They are scamming. Needless to say, Iāll never go back to K&G unless Iām being rang out by one of guys. If the clerk is a bitter female, best come...
