The Mineral Gallery — Local services in McDonough

All I can say is WOW!! I am a professional geologist and travel the country and abroad quite frequently. As a geologist, I make the effort to collect rocks wherever I go and stop by any local rock shops I can find. I stopped here at The Mineral Gallery today and was blown away. This is one of few shops I have seen that has actual high grade collectible crystal and mineral specimens, as well as a good selection of cheaper stones and tumbled stones for people into the metaphysical practice. There really is something here for everyone and the selection is huge. There are crystals in the displays from all over the world, literally, and crystals from right here in Georgia. There is even a stack of books about places to find your own crystals here in the state. They have display stands. Even loupe magnifiers for inspecting crystals. A geologist's #1 tool! If it sounds like I'm nerding out it's because I was. This shop is very impressive and prices are very reasonable, better than anything I saw in metro Atlanta. Would recommend 100%. This place is located inside the antique mall. Go right at the register then forward to the isle on the left. About half way down the isle there are display cases on both sides. They have an amazing variety of very good quality crystals and gemstones. They have a few corals and fossils, but mostly crystals. The prices reflected the quality of the pieces with both good quality at a reasonable price to better or excellent quality at a higher range. Overall, very fair and competitive with others with similar pieces. I would shop there again. To make a purchase, decide which item(s) your Interested in before you ask the very nice ladies at the register for help. They are very busy and the crystals take some time. There might have been a time when this was a good ce to shop but in 2021 that is not the case. We drove all the way down there for nothing, the selection was not that great, the personnel not that customer friendly and the prices OMG I get better prices and selection at my local retailer. Then to boot I emailed the people who allegedly own the inventory and he sounds like he is dealing drugs and not gems and minerals talking about he only gives his wholesale shop location to certain people....LOL nice way to not grow your business.
