I waited for the initial hype to die down before I went to PITA, since I figured that going while it was still jam-packed may have messed with food quality. When I arrived, it was moderately filled up, and I noticed most food orders were to go. The cashier was attentive and polite. My wait time was standard. I usually don't worry too much about how long food takes except in the most extreme of circumstances. Overall, I think I was waiting for about five to seven minutes (give or take). I ordered the falafel pita wrap for myself and a chicken shawarma and traditional gyro for my parents. For sides, I ordered fries, both regular and Greek style (feta, cilantro), and cilantro hummus with pita bread. I took the order to go. After leaving the store, I regretted not checking my order before heading back home. All orders were supposed to come with pita bread and an additional side (fries, rice, etc.). Instead, only the traditional gyro came with hummus and pita bread. The other wraps came only with fries, which was a little disappointing. Mistakes happen though! As for the food, I can only describe it as mediocre. Each dish had one prevailing flavor: the fried falafel, the gyro meat, and the chicken shawarma's sauce. The rest of the ingredients were lost, and it was almost as if they didn't contribute anything to the meal. The hummus was bland and tasteless. The fries, however, were good! They were well seasoned and tasty. The baklava was also good, though I was disappointed that I had ordered a three-piece baklava and only got two-and-a-quarter. The portions for the baklava should definitely be addressed. Overall, I don't regret my experience at PITA, but there's nothing here, at least for me, to write home about. Unless I'm really craving some pita wraps, I won't be returning regularly. EDIT: I was confused regarding the street pita wraps and what sides they come with. Also, props to the owner for a speedy reply to the review(s)!

New place in my area, and this is the first time that I'm trying it out. When I looked at the menu, I saw that they had baklava. Which I've been wanting for the longest, especially for a place in my city to have it on the menu. So I went the next day! I was in limbo with either picking the chicken pita or the salmon pita, and I went with the salmon. I'm really glad that I chose the salmon and not the chicken because the salmon was banging and you can never go wrong with chicken, so I would have played it safe... When I finished ordering, my meal came out about 8 minutes, which was great. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was warm. I also ordered The Baklava cheesecake only because when the cashier pointed out the baklava, it was in the refrigerator, and I'm used to baklava being room temperature with the honey. The Baklava cheesecake was okay. It was still missing that honey. Maybe next time I'll go for the regular baklava and hope that they add the honey to it... I don't know, but the salmon Pita definitely won me over. This is a new restaurant so it is very clean the workers are very attentive. Once you walk in the door they greet you. I would definitely return to this place sooner rather than later. -#ForknFly

UPDATE 2023: found out they will no longer carry my favourites here anymore...so sad! Quality has gone down, and my absolute favorite item - Baba Ganoush - will no longer be an option. Another amazing restaurant falls victum to the COVID trend and downfalls to compete to stay alive. I will update once the menu changes to see how far the quality drops soon. 2022 review (5 stars): I had the best experience here! The service was friendly (they even threw in some extra taziki sauce for me), the food was fresh and delicious, and the establishment was clean. I absolutely loved the Baba ganoush; it was to die for and seasoned very well. MY favorite thing ever by far! We had the Signature Gyro, and there was so much meat, and the fries were cooked perfectly and seasoned to follow. I could tell they took extra care and put a lot of love into my meal, so you can bet I'm going back soon. I always loved the one in Fayetteville, so I wish I would have come here sooner! If you've gone here and had a bad experience, I urge you to give them another chance (yes, I read some of the reviews) because I don't think you'll have the same experience as you did before.

I love Greek food but I will not be back here because of the customer service. I’ve only been inside twice. The first time, the food wasn’t that great. The second time (today), I walked in and the white girl with burgundy hair didn’t even greet me. There was another woman in line ordering before me at a KIOSK (the employee-killer) and the chick acted like she had a problem with answering the lady’s questions.

I had 0 interaction with the employee by the time I made it to the kiosk. Then, a man walks in and she doesn’t greet him either! He stood there waiting and the first thing she says is, “which one you picking up for?”. No eye contact, no enthusiasm, NOTHING.

I KNOW it is a lot of third party ordering going on. But how did she know he was picking up?? What if it was his first time there and he was waiting for her to greet him? What if he WAS NOT picking up? That was enough for me to walk right out of there. I’m not giving my money to a place where employees behave that way to customers. If this industry isn’t your thing, please be honest with yourself. I understand how tough it is but it requires passion just like every other CAREER.

A simple, “Hello, be with you in just a second,” works like a charm.

Oh yea, and she was touching food with no gloves on and wiping her nose, and hair wasn’t pulled back with no hair net on🤢. I wouldn’t want to eat someone’s food that has a attitude like that. Food should be...

Overall the food was good. I was disappointed that I waited for my food for quite some time, and when I got home after a 10 minute drive I had to warm up my food for it be hot.I ordered a steak bowl. The side salad I ordered was tasty as well, but I found it distasteful that the feta cheese was not broken down. I had about 8 huge chunks of feta (4x larger than a standard dice) that I had to breakdown myself. It’s as if no one bothered to cut or crumble the cheese for the salad. I had more cheese then salad, but that was a minor nuisance. While there I did address the manager about an employee who was not changing out their gloves after handling food , serving food and preparing drinks at the drink fountain. I was originally not going to include that incident in my review, but I have seen that other restaurant goers have had this issue at this location as well. So this is clearly an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed promptly and swiftly. The manager did professionally address the situation and apologize. However, this can’t happen again. This restaurant has the potential to do extremely well, the manager was very polite, hardworking, and kind. but PITA @Mcdonough has to make corrections to the sanitation and time management issues. I would love to see this location do well, but because of the cross contamination that I saw physically happen in front of me, I’m not sure if I would be comfortable eating...
