La Parrilla is our go to for Mexican in McDonough; however, tonight we arrived later than usual and there was a 45 minute wait, so we decided to try La Castillo Grill for the first time. BAD DECISION…..we arrived and the La Castillo Grill was totally empty except for a customers at the bar. We actually discussed leaving since the place was empty (assuming something must be wrong with the food or something else for the place to be totally empty at 5:45 on a Friday night), but we stayed. The chips and salsa were fair…..thick chips and salsa that tasted mostly like Cholula Hot Sauce. We ordered and our food arrived quickly. My shredded pork taco was good, but very, very tiny…..the corn tortilla might have been 3.5 inches in diameter at best with a tiny bit op pork on top (seriously, THE smallest soft taco EVER). My hubs got the ribs which he really liked…..literally, they were fall off the bone tender. When we got our bill, we realized why the resultant was empty. There were four adults and two children under age 4 in our party (only 3 adults placed an order and ate). No where on the menu or posted in the restaurant was information that there would be a 20% gratuity added to our ticket……yes, 20%!!! I asked on the way out and was told they add a 20% gratuity on parties of 5 or more…..really??? In addition, they charged $1 for a side of jalapeños which came one of the tiny paper condiment cups (see pic attached - the cheese dip by itself was 8.95 on menu). Our total bill was $50.05 with gratuity (see pic below). My hubs was going to use the G Pay app to pay using the QR code on our ticket, BUT he noticed that the restaurant adds another 20% tip if you pay with the app……are you kidding me???!!!??? My SIL’s bill was $57 and some change. They ordered the 3 taco meal, cheese dip, 1 soft drink and one quesadilla kids meal for their two little ones to share (my daughter did not eat). He added cheese dip on their rice for a whopping cost of $7.90 (2 @ $3.95). He also ordered extra sour cream ($1) that also came in the tiny condiment cup which equaled about a tablespoon of sour cream at best. Again, the food was good, but we felt we had been robbed by the 20% gratuity and the high cost of tiny extras. We always tip well especially when the service is good, but the services doesn’t have to be good when there is a guaranteed tip. We had to ask for drink refills and get someone to find our server for our ticket. So, now we know why the La Castillo Grill was empty tonight……because previous customers have learned to dine elsewhere where you get good service and food at fair and reasonable price. Adios, La Castillo Grill……you can find us back at La Parilla next...

My experience here was HORRIBLE!! Whatever bartender that worked tonight was trash. I came in at 10:30pm and ordered a spicy margarita… I sit for about 10-15 mins waiting.. being patient because she seems to be busy, but actually she completely forgot about me and my friends drink order.. I ordered food at the same time as drinks and she told me the food would come out with specific ingredients but when she handed me the plate it was completely different???? So is she not knowledgeable of the menu??? She treated other guest with the upmost disrespect. A guy came in around 11pm and she turned him away and said the establishment was closed, Google says this place closes at 12… as she’s speaking to the managers about her schedule and out time she’s loud and pissed off she has to stay another hour after being there for how long??? so she starts mopping and it smells like complete pine sol… all while people are drinking and eating right at the bar. Then I guess the guy didn’t tip her so she throws a fit in front of all of the guest and says “yeah that’s what I thought, wasn’t gonna tip shit!” I’m sooooo baffled :( I live in Atlanta and just wanted a break from the city. Is this how you all treat your guest foreal? We didnt stay because the place was full of fumes and bad energy from that ONE person. I hope when you all see this review you take action. This is coming from a bartender, she should not be working in customer service. There’s a way to go about annoyance and wanting to clock out. Like management said to her “you can leave if you want” she should have left. I’ll never return to this place. I know my dollar nor opinion may not have any affect, but let’s do better. I’d hate for a place like this to close down due to poor customer service. Fire her and do better. If you close at 12am everyone should be on that accord. She was...

The pic of the chopped meat is the menu pic when you order but what you get is 1 whole SUPER THIN t-bone that I HIGHLY DOUBT was the 14 oz that they show mutiple of on the other pic I posted. Great salsa, food was ok, and service was terrible. Never received things I would ask for and charged for. I could eat all the ice before receiving refills. **In response.to the business. If point to what I want and the order comes to me wrong I can only go by my expierence. I pointed to the pic of the tray with the sliced meat recieved the tbone and 45 dollars later for my self im guessing i paid for what I pointed to. I cant go over the reciept since one was not offered to be printed only was I offered to review it at the table.on a payment device. I ordered chopped fresh Jalapenos cilantro and lime at the time of my order I recieved the pickeled JalapenosI added to my cheese dip. My waitress never come around enough to ever get the rest after a different waiter dropped off my food and I dont feel its there responsibility to help me when my tip doesent go to them. Im not going to ask another waiter/waitress to assist and it affect their tips and time assisting there customers. My waitress should be more attentive. She was not busy. I could understand if the place was packed out. Ill give it a.little while and give you another chance if its better ill update my review. I review alot of businesses and most not all but most are 5 star reviews. Ill give you another chance any place can...

We went to this restaurant for taco Tuesday and I must say we were very disappointed. We waited 50 minutes to be seated but yet there were empty tables I’m assuming because the lack of staff which I can respect instead of them just sitting us at a table waiting forever to be served. We ordered the specials being that it is taco Tuesday and I must say I wish we didn’t. The strawberry margaritas literally tasted like medicine. They definitely used the lowest grade of tequila possible for these margaritas on special I didn’t event take two sips of it and I was done. For the food we started with the queso which was so watery and the chips tasted like they came out of a bag, they weren’t those authentic chips that some restaurants offer that they actually cook there which I was disappointed about. We then ordered 2 tacos a Birria one and a salmon , on the menu it says the salmon comes with cabbage and garlic aioli so I thought it would be phenomenal. When we got it it wasn’t even on a fresh tortillas it was on a cooked tortilla like they do the Birria ones and it only had onion and cilantro on it. When we asked what happen they said the special tacos only come with onion and cilantro. Mind you NOWHERE does it state that. Also the Birria was so dry and didn’t even come with the dipping sauce or it wasn’t cheesy like your typical birria tacos. Very disappointed that we actually left without finishing anything and went to Taco Bell.
