The behavior that two employees (the first a short black woman who I believe was management, the second a young black woman with bright pink/red dreads) displayed on 11/11/22 in the evening was disgraceful. The two were belittling, aggressive, and literally antagonistic as we were trying to leave. Being annoyed with paying members for staying until closing doesn't give you the right to be disrespectful and outright combative. Customer service means that you end up staying later in certain circumstances - when I was a professional working in customer service, I sucked it up and kept it pushing when customers ended up staying LITERAL MINUTES after closing. And reminded them politely, patiently that it was time to close shop. We were harassed to the point of the young lady following my friend and I out of the gym because she was annoyed I left my keys in the pool area, and decided to verbally berate us out the door? As if we weren't walking out? You in particular, bright red/pink dreads - why did you actively attempt to escalate a situation to create a problem?
And by the time we'd physically left the building, it was only TEN MINUTES past the hour? Who raised their voice at the two of you? Who refused to leave the premises? This was all deeply unwarranted. Period. I'm not moving faster for you after lifting heavy weights and swimming for an hour. Deal with it. Customer service is annoying - shocker. Grow up or get a new job. I don't even need to say that I'm never returning to this location because I'm cancelling my membership in...
Read moreAfter being scammed and deceived by the Morrow location for a training contract and membership fee, I went to the Mcdonough location to get everything cancelled and sorted out because I knew the staff at the Morrow location were not honestly trying to help me. I was informed at the Morrow location that I may or may not get my money back and that they had to contact all these other people in order to do so and that it would take several days to fix (lies, they were trying to make me go past the 7 day cancellation mark because I just signed up). I explained my situation to the managers at the Mcdonough location and not only did they welcome me and immediately reimburse me everything I was charged, but they also took the time to apologize on the behalf of all LA Fitnesses because of how I had been treated even though they personally were not at fault. The managers Nekita and Sid were beyond helpful and so sweet to me. I never had a gym membership before and they gave me a completely different experience compared to the other location. They broke down everything to me so that I would understand and know how to move forward. They made me feel like family as we tried to sort out the issues. This location will now be my home gym and I will keep coming back because this location prides itself on honesty and genuinely tries to help the customer. They don’t do all that fast talking to trick you into sales and trap you in contracts that you can’t afford. I love them...
Read moreRenewed my membership in Jan and that was a big mistake! I have not been pleased with the instructors and class offerings. Cleanliness is questionable when you walk in the bathroom stalls you are subject to see anything.... slippery floors given the pool area and often concerned for the senior members. The male spin instructors are exceptional but the regular fitness classes are beyond stale. Same lame routines, aged music ( one day I thought I heard a frozen remix) and nothing new for 2 years!!!!! The sauna is a plus and the juice bar will often run out of fresh ingredients. Personal training is a separate contract that is pricey. If you sign up for a complimentary training session it’s about 10 min and they will harass you to the point of it being uncomfortable! Reminds me of a desperate car salesman who has to meet their monthly quota! The really good instructors never stay. And the one Zumba Jammer who is excellent only teaches on Saturday mid day or very late during the week. Have found better instructors, classes and training outside of the gym. This location is struggling to find or keep quality instructors and offer a variety of classes. Does not look like the same chain in Atlanta Station area.....If fitness classes are high on your want list you need to look elsewhere!!!!Will not renew my membership this year! Feel like my money...
