Super cute store and surprisingly incredibly cheap! There's a wide variety of unique Asian goods that range from beauty, household, food, and plushies.
I would like to point out something weird that happened today, though.
The store opened at 9 am and I got there at around 9:30 am. I shopped around a little bit then went up to the cashier.
The cashier informed me that the systems were down and the manager just needed to turn it back on. She politely asked me to continue browsing while I waited, so I did. It took longer than I thought so I waited off to the side.
A lady approached and had been told the registers were still down, and was asked if she just wanted to leave her things with a name on it to come back later for. Her, myself, and a couple all opted to do this.
Meanwhile, another associate approached us and explained that the manager was on the phone in the back with the corporate office to try and remedy the situation as quickly as possible, but because of how long it was taking, they had to close the store.
While I had no problems with any of this, I returned in about 30-45 minutes later after finishing another errand. I pulled up to see a different couple standing at the front door looking in the window.
When I was pulling up, it looked like one of the two doors was locked because the man had pulled on it and failed. The lady was able to open the second door and she stood in the doorway. I watched as she shouted "hello?" several times. I asked what was going on and she flicked the hanging lanyard of a key fob out into view. It was the store keys that were there hanging inside the door. She said "I don't think they're open but I'm confused," since they left their keys in the door.
I ended up leaving, and I'm sure I'll still end up revisiting the shop another time since it's amazing value for nifty products. This was...
Read moreIf you aren't rich looking or kinda shaggy, or speak with a stutter.. do NOT go in here, I just experienced one of the worst discrimination experiences of my life. I went in there to check it out and get a few snacks cuz I heard they had cool stuff, instantly I was asked to put my bag by the counter.. no hello, no greeting.. It was instant.. while she is doing this I see literally 3 other people walk by her, who were richer looking, with giant borderline backpack purses, walk by her.. I point them out while stuttering and she just gives me a dirty look and walks away, so I walk around and check out the store.. see the snack section and start picking things out.. where I was accosted again by someone else. I'm sorry I look like a dirty hippie, and talk with a stutter... How is a place going to play grateful dead on the speakers and treat someone like this. I just gave her the snacks I was holding, called her out for discrimination and left. Really ruined my mood and whole shopping experience to be treated like that.. I had a whole fun outing planned, now I'm just going back home. They should be ashamed of themselves for treating me or anyone like dirty...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Daiso yesterday, there was a line to enter the store, which is good for a a business. We bought a bunch of snacks and several other items, including a wood frame box for my project. The checkout line is slighty chaotic, which understand-able since it's their 2nd of grand opening. They direct us to go with "self-checkout" since we paid with card. The thing is, they assigned people to do check-out process for customer, so we did not do it ourselves. The employee scan the items and bag the items, and we came home to find out there is one stuff (yes! My wood frame box) is not in the bag, but it is on my receipt. We are very disappointed, we drove for 1 and half hour just to get there. I hope they can do better on check out process, or just let the customer do it themselves,.since it is self checkout anywy, and the space is not big enough for several people to...
