Kohl's — Local services in Menifee

I usually have amazing assistance and customer service from the employees at Sephora in Kohls, unfortunately the associate working today was not one of those employees. On Tues, 4/23 at approx 11:20a I was shopping at the Sephora in Kohls for a myself and a gift for a friend. The associate working was a younger girl, with very long black hair in a pony tail. When I went to check out she was talking another customer. I continued to stand there patiently because the associate had her back completely turned and could not see the register from where she was standing. I waited, and waited, I understood she was tending to another customer. When it started to get close to 15m waiting, I started to search for another employee. By this point there were now 3 additional customer in line behind me and the associate had still not even glanced at the register. When it hit approx the 20m mark of waiting, I finally went to their place of conversation, excused myself for interrupting and asked if there was another employee who could assist all of us at the register. She seemed unhappy to be interrupted and told me no, but to take my Sephora merchandise out of Sephora to the Kohls checkout and promptly went back to her conversation. I took my merchandise, left the additional item I was thinking about buying but I had a question about and told the other parties in line that we needed to take our Sephora merchandise to the main Kohls register. I hope this is remedied because this location is very convenient for me and again all of the other associates working in this Sephora...

I witnessed a very unprofessional and disappointing interaction at the Menifee Kohl’s. A customer was making a purchase inside the Sephora shop in shop with apparel merchandise and while she had asked the associate to hold the items and said she would be back since the card was being declined,the situation was handled inappropriately by a manager who came immediately after the lady had left.

The manager or whatever his role is a tall white gentleman with mixed grey hair and glasses told the Sephora associate (within earshot of customers) that “she’s not coming back,” followed by remarks about her card being declined and that the merchandise was “out of her price range.”

Regardless of the circumstances, comments like this should never be made publicly in front of customers. It comes across as discriminatory, judgmental, and highly unprofessional. Staff ,especially management should treat all customers with respect, without making assumptions about their financial situation or intentions.

I was disgusted by this behavior and expected better professionalism from leadership. Situations like this not only damage the reputation of the store but also create a hostile and disrespectful environment.

This person needs to be coached and needs more training and looked at. I don’t think this is the kind of behavior Kohls would want. This happened today 8/20/25 around in the afternoon. I have shopped at the Menifee Kohls in December and now January I have very good service each time shopping there and I have found and gotten great sales on each item I have purchased I have told my friends and family that this store is great for what you may be looking for and the store is also close to my home. I would recommend you shopping there for your family and friends even yourself. I enjoy the experience each time I shop. I just recently went to Kohls and went in to Sephora and they were so friendly and showed me what I was looking for. The girl was awesome and I will continue shopping there my experiences are always great. Thank you Kohls for great customer service. I commend those as I gave the same service in employment years. I went to Kohls on my birthday yesterday and they had Kohls cash for my special day and gift from Sephora. I was looking for a new crackpot which I found at a great price it made my birthday visit that more special and the girl was awesome. Thank you Kohls for another great experience. Great Job. I just went shopping at Kohls and every time I go I get great deals and find what I need. The prices are awesome. I love shopping there they have great customer service every time I shop the Menifee store. Thank you again Kohls for a Awesome Shopping experience. Great Job....
