See's Candies — Local services in Mesa

I’ve been a loyal See’s Candies customer for years. The dark chocolate raspberry truffles, California crunch, and key lime pie truffles are my Achilles heel. Despite my admiration for their chocolates and candies, the customer service I received from employee initials TM at this location on 12/21/20 was awful.

What happened to active listening and curtesy in customer service? When I asked for eight pieces of California crunch (white chocolate, peanuts, & peanut butter), I was asked if I wanted my candy in dark or milk chocolate? I politely let the employee know that the candy I requested was white chocolate and repeated the name. The employee held up the candy to confirm what candy looked like. Rather than including eight pieces, the employee added eight cups to the box which took up substantial space in the box. I went to add my third choice and was told I don’t have room to add to the box. When I asked if she had placed eight pieces vs eight cups, I was rudely told, “eight cups like you said”. I asked if some of those cups could be removed so I’m able to add other candies, I was told, “if you want” with attitude. First, obviously their candy is amazing just as it was 40 years ago. The most impressive is how the staff treats customers. Have a little patience when there's a crowd because when it's your turn the sales person is focused on you. I went to the store across the street from MCC and was helped by Jamie. In just a few minutes she made me feel like family and made suggestions I had never considered, Blueberry Truffle which is now my 2nd favorite. Went to this location today 12/20/2017 at noon the line was long two workers only and older lady and a younger lady and one young lady that was off the clock. I watched 5 people walk out and they were not happy. They were pleasant, but the need of more help was apparently needed. Even if the one young lady off the clock needed to clock back in.
