Update: This location has come a long way! I did eventually receive an apology and since I've been back the manager has been better AND believe it or not even Jennifer has improved greatly!
I wanted to love this location! I mean I LOVE Half of Half, what they stand for, and most of all their BARGAINS so I was excited that one was opening near me in Mesquite a couple years back. This location however offers less than adequate customer service and frankly could us a class of two on how to interact with customers.
Jennifer R is a shining example of how NOT to treat a customer. She never smiles, is always brash and rude, AND snappy. It's unprofessional the way she speaks to not only myself but other customers and it's demeaning. Her manager Steven isn't much better.
Today I visited the Mesquite location (once again) and they were having a sale on handbags! They were all marked down to $15. You're thinking great, right?! WRONG! When I approached the counter Jennifer immediately started these aren't on sale when I asked the price. I showed her a picture of the sign and pointed to it. She got her manager Steven who said, Although the sign says all handbags are on sale these are not." ???? I'm puzzled at this point because in my world "all" means ALL!
Not only did he refused to honor his posted signs (there were two of them) but he then went on to accuse me of being "poor" and trying to get something for nothing. He said "I always come in here and try to change prices". Wow! I was appalled. The six ladies behind me in line we're in shock and one of them spoke up and came to my defense.
Steven refused to honor the signs. I waited until my purchase was made and I walked back to Steven who was now making new signs to correct his mistake and I explained that I myself am a business owner. I told him in my opinion someone is not doing their job updating their signs but instead of honoring them they make the customer who brings up the mistake look like the bad guy. I told him that the next time this happened I will record the whole process and report them to his corporate office. He then turned and walked away stating I was irrational and confrontational! Wow!!! LOL! Because I pointed out an area they need to improve I'm now an irrational, irrate and a thief?!!?
I left the store and called their corporate office. I hope someone at least speaks to Steven and Jennifer about their behavior AND about honoring THEIR sales! I'm attaching a picture of the sales...

Staffs from other outlets ālocationsā , are very professional , rational and nice people and helpful. Independents day I bought clothes and shoes worth $230 , while Memorial Day I bought shoes and clothes worth $170 at the mesquite store, I came in today being Friday for return at the mesquite location, I have never experienced such embarrassing and awful experience in my life from these rude staffs at mesquites location, I brought in my price tags and my receipts for an exchange, I was embarrassed by the staffs at the store , they told me that they canāt do returns because they canāt sorts out the price tag I brought ,all the staffs walked me outside . Have been doing returns from other stores , they donāt treat me or their customers in a rude and unprofessional manner and other stores will provide solutions and help you sort out the price tags with your receipt , I can never go there or advise anyone there to buy stuffs from mesquite store .One person will be at the cashier with long queue , others will be at the back gossip. Worst , lazy , rude and unprofessional staffs at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is wild!! I went because I heard there were great discounts on name brand clothing etc. First off, donāt even bother going unless you can spend a couple hours digging. There is no specific organization in this place other than maybe things being in size order. The discounts were not that great unless the items were in the clearance section or it was the designated day for that specific color tag (just an ex: half off all yellow tags on Tuesday. I donāt know if thatās a real deal I just made it up to give an example). Also, if you donāt know to ask the people who work there what the special is that day then you might not know because I didnāt see any big signage anywhere. The workers are at least nice though.
