First time trying the Mesquite location... makes me think of their short-lived location in Old Town/Lovers Lane and Greenville Ave. Very clean... beautiful restaurant... but COLD food. I went today for a late lunch and so much was not enjoyable because of the food temperature. I seriously wanted to ask them if they had a microwave!
Part of the problem might have been time of day, 2pm. There were only 9 or 10 patrons dining, so nothing was turning over. Every fried item (chicken, fish, falafel) was cold and hard as a rock. The pasta in cream sauce was cold... meatballs cold... eggplant cold... spinach cold... gyros lukewarm... mustard chicken lukewarm... vermicelli rice lukewarm... chicken thighs cold. I mean the only thing hot was the lentil soup and coffee. Because of this, I left alot of food partially eaten on my plate... which I felt bad. I don't like to waste, but most of the hot foods were not at an acceptable food-safe temperature.
Salads and desserts were good though. If they can fix the temperature issue, I'll be back... otherwise, I'll continue to drive 10 miles more to their Richardson location. I still like Dimassi's, but this new location needs to work out some kinks with the food.
I even mentioned it to the lady cashing me out. I told her the taste was good but everything was cold. She pointed out to the middle steam table and said "oh, look at the steam coming from the food". I kinda laughed because one of the trays had been removed so steam was escaping. Regardless, just because there's steam doesn't mean things are hot... think about fog. Fog is steam, but it can be cold outside. I just think the food and steam tables need more monitoring and/or adjustment... and I went during an...

My mother called yesterday to confirm the restaurant’s holiday hours and lunch pricing. She was clearly told by an employee that they would be open and that lunch would be $17.99 per person before 4:00 PM.
When it came time to pay, I noticed a sign at the register offering 10% off the meal for a Google review. The employee stated that each person would need to leave a separate review to apply the discount and would only honor a discount for two out of our party of three — which seemed odd, but I still went ahead and submitted two.
However, when we received the bill, we were suddenly charged “holiday pricing” of $23.99 per person. We explained what we were told on the phone — that lunch pricing would apply at $17.99. The employee dismissed this, saying we were given the wrong information. To make matters worse, he claimed that even if the regular lunch price was correct, we would still be charged $19.99 (dinner pricing) because we checked out after 4:00 PM.
This is completely unacceptable. We arrived at 3:00 PM, well before the supposed dinner pricing cutoff. Changing prices after the fact — especially after customers have already eaten — feels deceptive and unprofessional. There was zero accountability for the misinformation, and no effort was made to honor what we were told.
This experience was disappointing, and I would caution others to verify pricing before dining here — especially...
Read moreStepping into DMB for my very first Mediterranean buffet experience, I was immediately struck by the vibrant aromas mingling in the air – a promise of garlic, lemon, fresh herbs, and something warmly spiced. The visual spread was just as enticing. Rows of colorful dishes, from glistening dips to hearty stews, beckoned from the expansive buffet line, creating an almost overwhelming sense of delicious anticipation. As a newcomer to this style of dining, I approached the buffet with a mix of excitement and a touch of strategic planning. Where to begin with such an array? I decided to start with a classic approach: small portions of a variety of dishes to get a broad taste of what was on offer. Overall, my first Mediterranean buffet experience was a resounding success. The quality and freshness of the ingredients were evident, and the array of options ensured there was something to satisfy every palate. It's a fantastic way to explore the diverse flavors of the Mediterranean, allowing you to sample a little of everything without committing to a single dish. The atmosphere was lively, inviting , casual and, comfortable; making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch with friends and a family dinner.
