My recent experience with the front desk customer service at Modo Yoga Miami Beach left me compelled to share my feedback, and regrettably, it's not a positive one. I believe that constructive criticism can contribute to improvements, and in this case, I feel it's essential to highlight the unfortunate encounter I had with a staff member named Kenzie.
Upon entering the studio, I was met with what I can only describe as the worst front desk customer service I have ever experienced in the yoga community. Kenzie's demeanor was nothing short of unkind, rude, and remarkably arrogant.
From the outset, Kenzie displayed a lack of courtesy that was profoundly disappointing. Instead of the warm and welcoming atmosphere one typically expects in a yoga studio, her attitude was dismissive and bordered on outright hostility. Any attempts at seeking information or assistance were met with curt responses and a palpable disdain that left me questioning the values of the establishment.
It's disheartening to encounter such behavior, especially in a community that promotes mindfulness, compassion, and respect. Kenzie's actions not only tarnished my visit but also left a lasting negative impression on the overall ambiance of the studio.
In any customer service setting, the front desk staff plays a pivotal role in shaping the customer experience. Unfortunately, Kenzie's approach was a stark departure from the ethos of a welcoming and inclusive yoga community.
In conclusion, my encounter with Kenzie at the front desk of Modo Yoga Miami Beach was regrettable, and I would caution others to approach the studio with tempered expectations.
Because of Kenzie I will not be back to that studio.
Kenzie is absolute disgrace to Miami yoga community !! It's my sincere hope that steps are taken to address these concerns and ensure a more positive and welcoming environment for Miami yoga community...
Read moreThis studio is just lovely. The instructors are friendly, informative and concerned about safety. The other students are respectful, and of all levels. So, no need to shy away due to your level of experience. Beginners and advanced students alike will find plenty of room to challenge themselves in a safe and productive way.
I have not yet practiced with an instructor that I do not absolutely love. I wind up taking classes with Carmelinda, Dan and Sean often because of my schedule, and they are all wonderful, knowledgeable and approachable. They also have barre classes and a creative movement class with Ashli Katz. I haven't taken her classes yet, but she's a longtime customer of mine and an absolute blast to chat with, so I can only imagine her classes being just the best.
MY TIPS: -Availability on weekends goes quickly for the morning classes, so definitely book in advance, but cancel if you're not going to attend to make room for wait listers and avoid fees. -You can rent mats and towels, blocks are free to use. -There is a hefty late cancellation fee, so plan carefully. They also have an email mailing list that reports on upcoming events, retreats, and special offers for class packs. -Short of becoming a member, the discounted class packs are the best deal here. Especially if you only plan to attend once or twice a week. Any more than that, and you should look into the monthly or annual membership. -Bring your own water bottle, which you can fill at their filtered bottle filling station, or purchase one from the front desk -It is hot yoga, but this varies from class to class. Some instructors love it HOT. Read up on what other people recommend if it's your first hot yoga class. And take it slow if you need to....
Read moreThis could be a 5 star review BUT unfortunately this is NOT Hot Yoga. As a former NCAA D-1 football player I love HOT YOGA for my body to rejuvinate, I have taken classes in L.A. NYC ATL and Vegas and hot yoga in these other cities a person comes out drenched and the instructors love it more then the people taking the classes. For some reason this one instructor at MODO kept putting the COOL FAN on - how is that HOT YOGA. I came too sweat but as soon as I started to feel that euphoria this instructor with her cool fans destroyed my mojo (at least 5 times the fans were put on). If I wanted to take a regular non heated yoga class there are so many options on South Beach. I have heard this same complaint from others that have taken classes at MODO that the place could be amazing but to call it Hot Yoga is a mistake, it is only hot yoga sometimes and you just have to hope you get the right instructor who gets it. Hoping someone reads this, that really wants a HOT YOGA studio here on...
